qwebirc84627somewhat fres install of 12.04 I ran the update manager and succesfully installed the updates.  Now it seems i am having IO issues driving very high load.  Before the update I had 3 hd recordings from a hd homerun work without issue, now recordings are failing a few minutes in.  in TOP it shows wa sometimes in excess of 45%.  Any suggestions?  CPU % is still low07:21
dekarlqwebirc84627: you could try iotop to see if its mysqld or mythbackend07:24
dekarlohh, did you enable the mythbuntu repository with 0.25-fixes updates?07:25
qwebirc84627I did, could that be the issue?07:29
qwebirc84627I'm chcking the iotop at the moment07:29
qwebirc84627It looks like it is mythbackend but it doesn't look consistant, very spikey07:33
dekarlusing current 0.25-fixes is prefered to running an old beta07:33
qwebirc84627It almost seems that the problems only appeared after enabling the 0.25 fixes though07:36
dekarlthe amount of free space on the recording/database filesystem is >10%? Then its not framentation either07:36
* dekarl gotta run for breakfast07:37
qwebirc84627Plenty of free space, currently using less than 15%07:40
qwebirc84627Thanks for the help, i'm going to have to run by the "newmythtv" user is me as well.  i'll watch for any other ideas or suggestions.  Thanks!08:10
dekarlnewmythtvuser: you might find someone with some more ideas on what to look after over in #mythtv-users. but all mythtv channels are slow around these times08:13
newmythtvuserya I thought they would be, still thought I would try...08:14
krupsevening, anyone happen to be using the Leadtek DTV2000DS PLUS Dual HD PCI Tuner..?09:45
n1md4krups: Afraid not. What's the issue?09:51
krupsn1md4: ah, just wondering if anyone has one, it's a new model to replace the non-Plus model, looks like same tuner and chipset, so i'm imagining it's supported as the the non-Plus is..09:52
n1md4I see, I've the Nova-T so have no empirical advice to offer.09:53
krupsno worries..09:58
krupsjust quickly too, anyone notice abit of stuttering at times with 0.25 with all updates..?09:58
newmythtvuserKrups, i'm seeing a lot of that as well but i'm not sure if its related or not.  Something seems to have happened when i upgraded to the .25 fixes as there wasn't studder before13:41
tgm4883dekarl, we didn't ship a beta with 12.0413:57
newmythtvuserI keep on getting errors in the backend log like the one below.  This only started recentally after I used the update manager.  any thoughts on cause or how to correct?  I have significant free ram, and processor utilization is low.15:31

newmythtvuser#012#011#011#011recordings, or you have a disk failure.15:31
n1md4newmythtvuser: Do you have a disk failure?16:30
newmythtvuserI don't think so, the disk has been running without issue for a while and the drive isn't that old.  Best way to check?16:35
dekarl-tootgm4883, I was trying to say "0.25 has had its fair share of issues that are fixed in 0.25-fixes", got it confused with shipping a beta19:26
tgm4883dekarl-too, I figured that is what you meant, but we shipped a beta of 0.23 with 10.04, which we will never do again. That is why I try to make a point of correcting that19:27
peto_hello, I installed Mythbuntu but I have a problem with graphic acceleration. Please help !19:54
gregLpeto, You will need to add a bit more information, like what video card etc.20:00
peto_I have mainboard ASUS E45M1-M PRO. There is Radeon 6320.20:01
Number6Hey. I recently updated from Natty to 12.4. My MS remote no longer works. I've uninstalled and reinstalled lirc, with no luck20:52

Steve-GoodeyNumber6: I believe someone a while back had the same problem which he fixed by rerunning the mythbuntu lirc generator.21:13
Number6Steve-Goodey: I purged the package, and reinstalled it - that should do the same thing21:14
Number6Ah, got i!21:21
Number6it, rather21:21
Number6Any way I can help reduce the momry footprint of the frontend? I've only 1GB of RAM in that machine, and it's both fron and backend21:23
SteveGoodeyNumber6: You saying you fixed the remote?21:26
Number6SteveGoodey: Yeah, it was udev being foolish.21:26
Number6It wasn't picking up the hardware properly until I unpluged the reciever and plugged it back in after the purge and reinstall21:27
SteveGoodeyGood.21:27
