jackkHello, can someone tell me if this Linux has flash preinstalled? I am a huge fan of porn and would like to know.11:00
alkisgIs it educational porn?11:18
jackkalkisg: No it dirty11:21
alkisgTry asking in #dirtylinux then :)11:21
alkisgThis is a channel for educational matters...11:21

TheProfHello - I'm hoping someone is around who could help me please.  I need to install Edubunt 12.04 on our server.  I have one SSD for the OS (where I will mount / ) and 2 x 1 TB SATA drives I'd like in mirror RAID 1 for mounting /home.20:25
TheProfI can't get the DVD installer to create the RAID.  What do I do please?20:25
TheProfI did some reading and in the regular Ubuntu installation I must use an 'alternate' DVD which will recognize RAID.  But this means I will not get LTSP functionality.  I was under the impression that Edubuntu is also an 'alternate' DVD setup.20:27
alkisgYou can install both the edubuntu-desktop package and ltsp over any ubuntu installation20:29
stgraberright, you can either use the ubuntu alternate disk with the LTSP option (press F4 on the CD menu), or install Edubuntu on your first disk and setup the raid for /home after installation20:29
TheProfHello -- thanks for your responses.  I was afraid of doing the edubuntu-desktop package as I was worried it was not as seamless as Edubuntu has been.20:30
TheProfEspecially with the backend integration (network, thin clients, applications, etc.)20:30
TheProfstgraber: Do I understand you correctly that the ubuntu alternative disk has LTSP as an option? That would be perfect as it also has RAID.20:32
TheProfI apologize if these are elementary questions - just the time pressure I've been put under makes this process rather stressful. Thank you.20:38
stgraberTheProf: yeah, ubuntu alternate has an ltsp option, just press F4 and select ltsp server from the cd boot menu20:47
TheProfstgraber: is that LTSP option = edubuntu? or would I also afterward install the edubuntu-desktop?20:48
stgraberyou'd need to install edubuntu-desktop afterwards to pull the educational tool21:15
TheProfstgraber: Thank you very much.  I believe I understand it now.  I'll install Ubuntu Alternatve CD with RAID support (to get /home on RAID 1) and LTSP configuration, then once up and running install edubuntu-desktop to pull in the educational tools.21:19
