[01:17] Hello all. Has anyone setup XBMC to connect to the mythtv backend? I'm following the wiki page but I can't get it to connect, I know I'm missing something easy =( [01:34] wangel, I've not done it in quite some time. If you are using MythTV 0.25, then XBMC probably doesn't work with it [01:34] although I haven't checked it recently [01:41] tgm4883, doh! I thought I was reading it is supported. hmph =( [01:42] wangel_, could be, i haven't checked in a long time [01:42] where were you looking [01:42] oh, maybe it's only 0.24 [01:42] http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=MythTV [01:43] [wiki.xbmc.org] MythTV - XBMC [01:43] and that leads me to [01:43] http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=129021 [01:43] :) [01:44] the github page returns 404 [01:45] I hope that they added 0.25 support correctly [01:46] plus that thread ends in july [01:47] yah, was reading thru it [01:47] but [01:47] the xbmc installed w/ mythbuntu (without adding a ppa) installs a build from April 23 [01:48] april 24th [01:56] wangel, a xbmc build from april 24th? [01:56] tgm4883, yes [01:57] I even added the team-xbmc ppa and did apt-get install --reinstall xbmc and it's the same version [01:57] wangel, ok, I'm unsure if that will work with 0.25 or not [01:57] yah, I don't think it will :D [01:58] The good news is that once they get it working with 0.25, it should work with all future versions (providing they do it right) [01:59] one of the last posts in that one thread says [01:59] the latest windows build works with 0.25 [01:59] now to find out how to update my xbmc to the latest [01:59] do you have a link to the PPA? [02:01] yA [02:01] WELL [02:01] sorry, caps. I added team-xbmc [02:02] are you on 12.04 [02:02] yes [02:02] I just downloaded mythbuntu and installed everything :D [02:03] wangel, I don't see a XBMC build from after March [02:03] eh? Mine is XBMC 11.0 Git:UnKnown (compiled : Apr 24 2012) [02:03] the builds on the official repo are from april [02:03] yah, I bet [02:03] wangel, yea the PPA doesn't have anything newer [02:04] I have to go to a nightly build [02:04] yikes [02:04] are their nightly builds somewhere? [02:04] yah [02:04] https://launchpad.net/~nathan-renniewaldock/+archive/xbmc-nightly/ [02:04] [launchpad.net] XBMC Nightly : Nathan Rennie-Waldock [02:05] do you know who nathan renniewaldock is? [02:06] IDK if he is a XBMC developer or just some random guy [02:06] the link was from the ubuntu wiki on xbmc.org [02:07] oh well [02:07] sounds good i guess [02:08] hah, I'm scared to run a nightly build :D [02:09] I don't know how their repo is setup, so IDK if it's a good idea or not [02:10] yah, I'm too chicken :D [02:55] tgm4483, I bit the bullet and did... the nightly builds are "alpha" ... but it work with myth 0.25 [02:55] just an fyi === RyanC_ is now known as RyanC
