caseyI'm logged in as 'casey'00:00
arrrghhhyou have to be su'd as some user...00:00
caseyhence why ls ~ resolves to /home/casey00:00
arrrghhhregardless, i am not an expert here.00:00
arrrghhhi would suggest you either remove it00:00
arrrghhhor blow it all away and start over.00:00
arrrghhhgood luck.00:00
caseyno, you don't have to be su'd to any user - su == Switch User.00:00
caseyI'm just /logged in/ as casey, not su'd to anything else.00:00
arrrghhhmy point is you have to be running the commands as SOME user.00:00
arrrghhhyeesh.00:00
caseyyes.00:00
arrrghhhso i'd say those are your options00:01
arrrghhhremove the encryption00:01
arrrghhhstart over, don't encrypt.00:01
arrrghhhgood luck00:01
caseylol, ok.00:01
caseywonder what other features are going to bite me like this.00:01
arrrghhhi wonder what else you glazed over during the install?00:02
caseydon't blame me because something deemed stable enough to be an installer choice is unstable.00:04
arrrghhhcasey, you seem to be blaming everyone but yourself.00:04
arrrghhhthe truth is, the installer gave you the choice00:04
arrrghhhyou made the choice to encrypt your /home.00:04
arrrghhhnothing is broken with it, encryption works great.00:04
caseyclearly it is broken.00:05
caseyI can't rm anything nor copy anything new in.00:05
arrrghhhi don't know, i've never encrypted my /home.00:05
arrrghhhall i know is a LOT of other people use it, without issue00:05
arrrghhhyou seem to be using it without your own knowledge of using it, which is odd.00:05
caseyand I'm not the one claiming it to be worthy of an installer choice in a distribution deemed suitable for server deployment.00:05
caseyyep, I'm pretty sure it was the default.00:05
arrrghhhand i'm pretty sure you didn't read any of the questions it asked00:06
arrrghhhsurprised you got it partitioned correctly.00:06
caseyin any case it doesn't matter, if it's a selectable option, it should WORK.00:06
arrrghhhit does work, for a lot of people as i stated.  not sure what your issue is, sorry.00:06
arrrghhhi'm out.00:06
caseyyou're making a lot of fucking negative assumptions and accusations about me00:06
caseygrow the fuck up00:06
=== arrrghhh is now known as Arrrghhh
caseyperhaps the encrypted idea seemed good at the time, and it worked up until now, I really don't remember.  That's not the point.00:07
caseythe point is the server is broken now, for no apparent reason.00:08
caseydo you remember every detail without question about how you set up some random server in the past?00:08
caseyif not, is it fair for me to blame the distributions problems on you?00:08
