issaI have installed edubuntu on 20 student computers, and the teacher's computer as well .... i tried to setup epoptes but no luck any help ?09:23
alkisgissa: did you follow the installation page?09:24
alkisghttp://www.epoptes.org/installation09:24
alkisgIf so, at which point are you having problems?09:24
issai thought that it is shipped by default09:25
alkisgAh sorry I didn't try out the default installation recently09:26
alkisgSo up until now, you basically didn't do anything related to installing epoptes/epoptes-client?09:27
alkisgNo key transferring etc?09:27
issano09:28
issacorrect me if i am wrong ... teacher's pc must run epoptes, each student pc must run epoptes-client09:28
alkisgRight, but the epoptes public keys need to be transfered to the client computers, and also an /etc/hosts entry needs to be added09:29
alkisgAFAIK in edubuntu it only works out of the box for ltsp (remotely booted computers)09:30
alkisgFor standalone clients like yours, you need to follow some parts of the installation page I pasted above, especially the keys transferring part09:30
alkisgSo, on a client, put "ip-of-teacher-ip server" in /etc/hosts, and then run: sudo epoptes-client -c09:31
alkisg*ip-of-teacher-pc09:31
alkisgE.g. 192.168.0.1 server09:31
issagreat, do i need any special configuration on the teacher's pc ?09:31
alkisgNo, just to add the teacher in the epoptes group and logout/login for the change to take effect09:32
issathanks a lot .... i will try it later on today :)09:33
alkisgRemember to put the word "server" there, not the actual hostname of the teacher pc09:33
issaok09:33
alkisgIf it doesn't work with the first try, read the installation page for more details, or come back here :)09:34
