[03:56] hey guys [03:56] trying to upgrade from ubuntu 12.04 to 12.04.1 but its just not showing up [03:56] any suggestions? [03:57] you won't see any prompt for 12.04 to 12.04.1. If you've kept doing your usual updates, you're already on 12.04.1 [03:58] oh I see [03:58] thanks a lot mate! [03:58] np [03:58] $ cat /etc/*issue* [03:58] Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS \n \l [03:58] nice ;) [04:02] night fellas === jbicha is now known as Guest14986 === Guest14986 is now known as jbicha_ [14:13] bencer, stgraber: FYI: [14:13] 10:03 < th1a> yvl is just finishing reviewing how our LDAP module works with Zentyal. [14:13] 10:09 < th1a> yvl: Can you give highvoltage a quick summary of what you did with the LDAP review? [14:13] 10:10 < yvl> sure [14:13] 10:10 < yvl> basically we're auto-parsing /etc/ldap.conf [14:13] 10:10 < yvl> to figure out where people are stored [14:13] 10:10 < yvl> and query for inetOrgPerson classes there [14:13] 10:10 < yvl> we also assume that ldap server is local and on port 389 [14:13] 10:11 < yvl> so just installing schooltool.ldap on an edubuntu machine with zentyal running [14:13] 10:11 < yvl> should let you log in as zentyal users configured in groups/users module [14:13] (from #schooltool) [14:27] yvl will send an email with more detailed status, there's a package in the schooltool ppa atm. so definitely not 12.10 ready but could be used in the future. [14:33] ok [14:33] ogra_: still didn't get a call from customs? [14:35] highvoltage, nope, no trace yet [14:35] :( [17:38] can I install edubuntu from dvd on ubuntu without losing my existing files? [17:40] it has an upgrade option that actually does a new installation but preserves your current home directory [17:47] so I need to choose update instead of new installation thank you [18:43] I have ubuntu 12 and want to upgrade it to edubuntu but the installation option was to have them both as separate systems and choose which one to boot is there a way to add edubuntu files from the dvd to ubuntu without having two systems [18:45] faragello: just install the edubuntu-desktop package [18:46] I thought of it but it is quite BIG and I do have it on the dvd can I install it from the dvd? [18:47] no [18:47] the DVD contains an image of an installed system, it doesn't contain the individual packages [18:48] so I HAVE TO download it again? [18:50] is there a way to use the image as a repo? [18:50] no. As I said, the DVD only contains an image of an installed system, it doesn't contain the individual packages. So you can't use it as a repository [18:51] you can either use it to do a new install or replace an existing install. If you want to turn an existing install into an Edubuntu system, you need to install edubuntu-desktop and wait for these packages to download. [18:51] thank you
