ogra_janimo, http://developer.nvidia.com/mobile/linux-tegra ... sadly no support for ABI 1308:34
ogra_janimo, what do you think about a kernel backport to 12.04 ?08:34
ogra_(then we could actually make use of that stuff)08:35

araknohallo pple10:45
araknois there any reason i cant chroot from armel into arm?10:45
ogra_into arm ?10:46
araknoyap10:46
araknoi debootstrapped from arm10:46
araknobut the platform is armel10:46
araknoi know executables are compatible...10:46
araknos/from/an10:47
wookeyDoes your kernel have OEABI support turned on?10:49
janimoogra_, so backport both of the nvidia-tegra and kernel packages to 12.04?11:00
janimosounds ok to me11:00
janimobut is the current 12.04 buggy?11:00
janimowhat does rel16 fix ? It says full support for armhf but saw nothing more detailed on the site, and I did not check the release notes11:01
araknowookey: http://pastebin.com/q0Bij6Ch11:08
araknoi guess you mean old eabi, but i am not cool enough to see it in my config11:11
araknoso it is oabi11:15
araknomaybe you can help me some other way11:15
araknoi need to build a system on a binary for a project.  but the binary is linked against glibc_2.3. If i debootstrap etch, i get the libc not the chroot11:16
araknoif i debootstrap squeeze i get the armel but run on higher and incompatible glibc11:17
ogra_janimo, dunno, but everything is better than what 12.04 has now11:19
ogra_the driver only works with the newer kernel though11:19
ogra_(r16 tag)11:19
janimoogra_, no point in updating quantal though right?11:41
ogra_janimo, not until they build for Xorg ABI 1311:48
lilstevieogra_, how do you build the deb for the nvidia-tegra driver11:52
lilsteviecause I have the kernel, well almost have the kernel all done for the tf201 with r1611:52
ogra_just pull the source and provide a new orig.tar.gz (and make sure the changelog version matches upstream)11:57
lilstevieah ok11:58
ogra_oh, and make sure your orig, tar.gz has the same filesystem structure as the existing one11:58
lilstevieyep sure11:59
lilstevieI didn't notice that you actually had an orig.tar.gz I only saw the .deb11:59

ogra_janimo, disabling CONFIG_VT_HW_CONSOLE_BINDING fixes the need for console= with 3.1, could you add change that in the next upload ?13:11
ogra_-add13:11
janimoogra_, great! will do13:12
ogra_seems marvin24 is also close to get r16 merged so probably a new git pull would make sense13:12
janimoonce he's done I'll rebase on that13:12
ogra_(still 3.1 afaik)13:12
janimomay be a good time to resync with some ubuntu configs, as people sometimes miss certain config options13:13
janimoyes, 3.1.1013:13
ogra_yup, we had one who complained about missin dvb drivers13:13
ogra_(which are built on x86 ... havent cheked teh other arms)13:13
ogra_janimo, ..."<marvin24> just pushed l4t-r16-ac100" ...14:02
janimoogra_, thanks14:03
janimomarvin24, ^ tested and working fine?14:03
