zykotick9why is "service" management virtually non-existant on ubuntu for such a long time?  i realize upstart is the major stumbling block.21:09
jribwhat is this monster of a channel21:22
MrChrisDruifWhat do you mean with service management zykotick9 ?21:25
zykotick9i want ssh to start on boot, or i don't.21:26
zykotick9pre-upstart there was a default "services" menu item, that allowed for gui adminstration of services.  since upstart there isn't.21:26
MrChrisDruifAh, and you want a graphical front-end to configure that?21:26
zykotick9no.  i'm just curious why ubuntu users aren't expected to want to do any "service management" operations.21:29
zykotick9i could still have the gnome2 gui if i wanted to.  i run debian-stable.  i have numberous service-management options on my distro.  as does basically every other distro i know, but not ubuntu.21:30
