omacrsalveti: good evening08:24
omaci noticed the ubuntu full image available for arm uses the linaro stuff.08:25

infinityomac: Uses "the linaro stuff"?08:51
omacwell from what I understand there is a linuxonandroid installer.  It refers to an ubuntu1204-v4-full.zip08:53
infinityOh, the linuxandroid stuff.  I thought you meant the official Ubuntu images.08:54
infinityAnd was confused. :P08:54
omacthat zip when launched spews out information...I saw linaro mentioned in the boot messages08:54
infinityWell, if "Linaro" was mentioned in the kernel version, that's because it's in our compiler version stamp.08:55
omacinfinity I have an advent vega and tried some different roms out there, but source for them is confusingly everywhere with different branches.08:56
omaccyanogenmod's version for the vega seems broken because I can't get usb-host-mode working so that I can use a mouse and keyboard with it.08:57
omacI have vegacomb3.2 installed, but it's a binary but it works and has shuttle gui tools to go into host mode.08:58
omacthe odd thing is once I boot up the ubuntu1204-v4-full.zip within it, when I do an lsusb in it, it doesn't list any devices.08:59
omacinfinity: you made a distinction about official ubuntu images.  They don't mention anything about advent vega.  ubuntu only mention a few other arm devices.09:06
lilstevieomac, not every arm device out there is supported officially by ubuntu09:13
lilsteviethere are a few devices though that are supported by third parties09:14
omacpandaboard and pi and some other cool stuff I've seen.09:17
omacI don't own those yet though.  I would love to simply use what I have.  I thought owning an android device gave me digital liberties I was used to having with ubuntu.  I was wrong.09:18
lilstevieI don't think the pi has an official image 0.o09:19
omacpandaboard has a lot of stuff out there and you can build a cluster with those.  VERY COOL.09:20
ogra_lilstevie, i doub even an inofficial one :)09:21
omacI saw arm based ubuntu laptop available, but the image on it is ubuntu 10.1009:23
omacpandaboards are running 12.04...that's an edge for these.09:24
omacI currently can connect my Advent Vega with VegaComb3.2 Rom to my ubuntu Quantal Quetzal via usb and run/debug from eclipse ADT(android plugin), but I would have liked to see the ubuntu gui on the Advent Vega.  I have not succeeded in seeing Unity displayed on the Advent Vega yet.09:28
omacany way for me to get ubuntu arm debug messages spewed back to my ubuntu quantal quetzal computer?09:29
omacIt would help me to understand why unity takes so long to boot up on the advent vega tablet.  The other concern is memory/cpu cycles.  android is still running while ubuntu is running.  I would love a way to simply halt the cpu cycles on the android side and place all the priority on the ubuntu side.09:31

ogra_stgraber, highvoltage, just FYI i have proper console (after initrd) now on the zatab .... still no MMC and still only 350MB15:27
ogra_(and still no touchscreen ... and wrt driver it looks pretty bad atm (proprietary blob apparently)15:27
ogra_but with the initrd we can at least see if it fails mounting /15:28
stgrabernice!15:36
ogra_yay15:47
* ogra_ has plymouth fsck in front f him15:47
highvoltageogra_: how do I get it? do you have an image up somewhere?15:50
ogra_so the trick is to build *all* display related parts as modules15:50
ogra_as long as "disp" is a module it will init a framebuffer console15:51
ogra_(do not compire fbcon, not even as a module)15:51
highvoltageheh, and here I thought it's always less problematic to do it the other way around15:51
ogra_indeed having it as a module you better want an initrd :)15:51
ogra_i wonder if making the mmc stuff modular would fix that too :P15:55
stgraberwell, at least you could try to change load time options (assuming the mmc module has any)16:05
zenxis anyone able to compile 3.5.0-211.18 for omap4 pandaboard?17:12
zenxwow, lxde is so light it doesn't even come with a mouse cursor18:11
