[19:31] morning [19:40] morning [20:02] good morning === ojwb is now known as Guest94083 === Guest94083 is now known as ojwb [20:28] morning [20:31] morning [20:32] morning [21:09] morning [21:51] morning [22:15] * thumper stabs X in the face again... [22:16] the cause of so many issues... [22:16] that good? [22:16] ajmitch: just beta 2 aches [22:16] screwed up linking in a package for bamf [22:16] bamf does app matching for x windows [22:16] I hate that we need that at all [22:17] seems there is no sane approach that covers all bases for matching windows to apps [22:17] by app matching, you mean sometimes takes a wild stab in the dark & gets it wrong [22:17] ajmitch: yeah, that [22:17] I'm not surpised that it gives you headaches, it seems to be one of the buggier bits that I've noticed :) [22:21] it gets things right most of the time [22:21] but open office is just evil [22:21] and libre office [22:21] it's just when it gets things wrong that you notice it [22:21] applications in wine have been the most problematic for me [22:22] did you know that all the libre office apps are one executable? [22:22] and that it reuses X windows? [22:22] yeah, it's a little crazy when you just want one part [22:22] just horrible [22:22] story of the linux desktop [22:23] * thumper reboots laptopt for updates [22:23] sadly due to some issues, I've stopped using unity on my main desktop at home for now [22:25] welcome back [22:25] at least that worked :) [22:25] thumper: has the unredirect fullscreen stuff made it in? [22:25] not on by default [22:25] but may do soon [22:25] * ajmitch stopped using unity recently because of awful performance in fullscreen opengl apps [22:26] seemed to be a mix of compiz & nvidia driver bugs [23:23] spotify seems to have a knack of taking out x input :/ [23:32] after a video card upgrade, I got my home PC upgraded to Quantal on the weekend [23:33] how'd it go for you? [23:33] it went well [23:34] some 'fun' with the repos I was using, and some trying to revert to oneiric. [23:42] it had problems using our internal repo. And then when it failed that it seemed to revert some lines to use oneiric. Unfortunately, I'm not too sure if that was me having a couple of older repos in there, commented out. [23:42] but in the end all seems well.
