=== seb128_ is now known as seb128aw [09:45] morning [09:45] hi [09:46] back home :) [09:50] potential-fixes-3.6.txt.. sigh [09:51] combing through the diff to drm/i915 [09:51] > still cant remember gpg passphrase :p [09:53] heh [09:57] hey, I'd like to point to a smbd bug I've encountered on quantal-backport: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1053414 [09:57] Launchpad bug 1053414 in samba (Ubuntu) "smbd crashed when trying to connect from Ubuntu" [Undecided,New] [09:57] not sure how to mark it so that it doesn't get lost [09:57] Saviq: wrong channel [09:58] creating a passphrase that was similar yet quite different made me forget it, already forgot it once before. Maybe I can find the inspiration to remember it, else I'll just create a new one again.. [09:58] tjaalton, https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/q-lts-backport is not here? [09:58] Saviq: that's a kernel bug then [09:59] tjaalton, it's probably just a combination of smb+the kernel, not sure who should know about it... [10:00] #ubuntu-kernel maybe [10:00] or -server [10:00] will try -kernel [10:42] hard to be productive again after those weeks :s === smartboyhw_ is now known as smartboyhw [17:26] I found some additional info on my laggy video issue. [17:27] Recap: I have an AMD ATI Radeon 6870 video card with 4 1680x1080 monitors attached. It was working well with the proprietary drivers in 12.04. I didn't upgrade to 12.10, I did a complete reinstall, and now it uses the open source driver but everything is REALLY laggy (dragging windows, switching desktops, etc, etc). My /var/log/Xorg.0.log - http://pastebin.com/i1RiJnHi [17:27] As it turns out, it's only laggy if I show the launcher on all desktops [17:28] It's way nicer to have the launcher on all desktops, but for now at least I have a work around [17:28] Now that I've got it down to the one issue, does anyone have any ideas what I might be able to do to fix it? === ubott2 is now known as ubottu === horstle_ is now known as horstle === jibel_ is now known as jibel === Amaranthus is now known as Amaranth === jbarnes_ is now known as jbarnes === ubott2 is now known as ubottu === soren_ is now known as soren === ubott2 is now known as ubottu === yofel_ is now known as yofel === Azelphur_ is now known as Azelphur [22:12] tjaalton_, there's a null pointer deref bug in the 228_autobind_gpu.patch hotplug code: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1054051 [22:12] Error: malone bug 1054051 not found [22:13] tjaalton_, guessing it just needs a null pointer check (which I'd be happy to send a patch for), but I see you have a couple followup patches fixing various things so maybe it needs a bit more study. [22:14] mlankhorst, ^^ you might be interested too [22:14] why does it show as private? [22:14] tjaalton_, btw patches 228 and 229 aren't referenced in changelog [22:15] mlankhorst, it was private because apport files all crash bugs as private. I unprivated since there's no core anymore [22:16] airlied wrote the code so you might want to ask him about it :-) === bdmurray_ is now known as bdmurray [22:17] it' s bed time so i dont really awnt to look right now [22:18] mlankhorst, it doesn't matter to me; I could just disable the patches and call it good. But guessing you wanted the patch in there for good reason, so raising for your attention if you want to locate a proper fix. No hurry, tomorrow's fine. [22:19] it's really a patch we want in since it binds the optimus devices === wgrant_ is now known as wgrant === Amaranthus is now known as Amaranth
