recon_lapanyone know how to get the font larger in the title bar of windows?11:31
TheSheeprecon_lap: sure, set a larger font in window manager settings11:33
recon_lapTheSheep: well I've change the font setting in Appearance , but that only changes fonts in apps, but cant find the setting that changes the Title of apps? any hits, cause i'v been looking11:40
recon_lapok, find it , bit hard to spot11:41
TheSheeprecon_lap: it's in the window manager settings11:41
recon_lapTheSheep: find the setting manager is very fond hard use, it's very annoying that the setting manager closes after you open a sub option.11:45
recon_lapas there are so many options you keep having to go to the Application Menu and open the setting manager again and again, I actually added it to my panel with a launcher11:49
TheSheeprecon_lap: it doesn't close11:54
TheSheeprecon_lap: just click 'overview' to go back11:54
TheSheeprecon_lap: it works exactly the same as the settings manager in gnome and macosx11:55
recon_lapTheSheep: never used the "overview" button, guess I might of recognized it if it said "Back" instead11:56
TheSheepit has a big-ass arrow pointing back on it11:57
recon_lapguess I know now :)11:57
recon_lapat the bottom of the screen which is normally off screen on these 9:11 screens11:57
TheSheepyou have one of these?11:58
recon_lapthe are nearly standard on laptops now, might have to numbers a bit wrong but they are twice as wide as tall11:59

MCMastaHello there. I have a question about hardlinking. I have a lot of duplicated files in my home folder from backing up back and forth from different devices and I was thinking of using fdupes's hard-linking feature, to hardlink duplicate files and thus save space. From what I've read, this should work, but when I ran some test and hardlinked two pictures I just duplicated, Thunar showed that the directory had the size of the file times two.12:00
MCMastaCan anyone explain this, is this how it is, is it something with Thunar or am I missing something?12:00
TheSheeprecon_lap: do you have one of these?12:00
TheSheepMCMasta: thunar just looks at the sum of sizes of files in the directory12:01
TheSheepMCMasta: it doesn't tell you how much they really take on the disk12:01
recon_lap13.6"x7.6"12:01
TheSheepMCMasta: use the 'du' terminal command or the 'baobab' program to see the real disk usage12:01
MCMastaI see... Thank you. So if I would back this directory up, would it just take the disc space of one picture?12:02
MCMastaAnd what would happen if I backed this directory up to a NTFS harddrive?12:03
TheSheepMCMasta: what do you mean by "back it up"?12:03
MCMastaCopy it to a harddrive.12:03
TheSheepMCMasta: if you make a copy of it, then you have two files, taking the space separately12:04
MCMastaSo it would take the disc space of two pictures?12:04
TheSheepevery time you make a new copy, you will get a new file taking up its disk space12:05
recon_lapTheSheep:I thought a hard link only make a actual copy when it's different partitions?12:06
TheSheepno matter if the file is hardlinked in several places of the directory tree, or just in one, each time you make a copy of it, you get a new file12:06
MCMastaBut if I copied the folder as a whole on to a ntfs harddrive, would it take up the space of both hardlinks of the pictures then?12:07
TheSheeprecon_lap: sure, but he is talking about making a copy of a hardlinked file12:07
TheSheepMCMasta: depens on how you copy it12:07
TheSheepdepends12:07
MCMastaI tend to use rsync.12:07
TheSheepMCMasta: rsync has a variety of options for controling that12:07
MCMastaDo I need to have a hardlink option added to the- Yeah, I see.12:08
TheSheepMCMasta: not sure if ntfs supports hardlinks, though, probably not12:08
recon_lapand a hard link is pretty useless as a backup, because if it get corrupted there is only one copy and you lose the data no matter how many links you have.12:08
MCMastaIt doesn't, that's why I'm asking what would happen. It's a windows filesystem.12:08
TheSheeprecon_lap: he's not talking about making hardlinks, but about making copies of hardlinked files12:09
MCMastarecon_lap, I don't think you understand. I have multiple copies of files on- What he said.12:09
MCMastaOr she, I don't know.12:09
TheSheepMCMasta: my guess is that either rsync will throw up an error telling you that it cannot copy with those options, or that it will fall back to making multiple copies12:09
TheSheepMCMasta: or both12:09
TheSheepMCMasta: on the Internet nobody knows you are a dog :P12:10
TheSheepMCMasta: the good news is that if you tar it up, it will only take the space of a single file12:10
MCMastaHm... Well, that's good enough. Thank you, you've been very helpful! And be careful so the doghunters on the streets don't take you! :P12:10
MCMastaNice!12:11
TheSheepand tar will also preserve all the ownership and permissions of files12:11
MCMastaThat gave me more questions. :P12:11
TheSheepthe bad thing is that you can no longer access single files that way12:11
TheSheepyou have to untar them first12:11
MCMastaCan I tar something so the end file ends up directly on the hard drive?12:12
TheSheepit's like zip or rar12:12
TheSheepexcept that tar doesn't compress, just puts it all in one file12:12
TheSheepyou can add optionz to gzip or bzip2 it though12:12
MCMastaAnd the untar thing wouldn't be a problem, because I would only have to look at the files again if my harddrive failed.12:12
TheSheepyeah12:13
TheSheepit's good for making a "snapshot"12:13
TheSheepbut not for inceremental updates like with rsync12:13
MCMastaI know what a tar is, but is there a target option, a destination for the file? Wait, I'll check myself12:13
TheSheep-C12:14
MCMastaFound it as you said it. Well, I wouldn't mind tarring up my files if I could save the amount of file space I would.12:14
MCMastaAnd I could compress it while I'm at it.12:15
TheSheepI think the -p options makes it preserve all permissions and stuff12:15
MCMastaWhen I'm going to do the backing up stuff, I'll make sure to look through the options. :)12:16
MCMastaOh, one more thing, TheSheep, should I tar my home folder by being inside the folder and using * or being in /home and tarring the folder mcmasta (my username on linux, too)?12:19
TheSheepMCMasta: I prefer the latter12:21
MCMastabecause?12:21
TheSheepMCMasta: this way you will catch all the dot files too12:21
MCMastaOh, they don' follow otherwise?12:21
TheSheep* doesn't catch them12:21
TheSheepjust try and see: `echo *`12:22
MCMastaalright12:22
MCMastaYeah, I see. Then I used echo .* which gave me all the things that have a dot, so if I used tar * .* that would catch them all, wouldn't it?12:23
TheSheepyeah, but doing it from one level up you don't have to remember taht12:24
TheSheepthat12:24
MCMastaI see.12:24
MCMastaThank you!12:24
TheSheepMCMasta: also think whether you want to exclude .cache, .thumbnails and trash12:25
MCMastaI usually empty my trash before backing up, but how much space would .cache and .thumbnails use? In the mega- or gigabyte range?12:26
MCMastaOh, I checked myself, it's around 120 mb.12:27
Mike-Linux-NLHello everyone... is there any way i can add my nas and local network to the GTK bookmarks?12:28
TheSheepMCMasta: try the "baobab" program, btw12:28
MCMastaWell, thanks for all the help again, TheSheep, but I have to go now. See you some other time, hopefully in the offtopic chat, because here would mean I needed help, and that something was broke. :P12:28
MCMastaand sure12:29
MCMastaNice, charts and stuff. :P Bye12:30
Samwise_Hello! Does anybody know how i properly can install adobe digital editions?12:32
|Anthony|i'm running a dual head setup and want compiz to start on both screens at login. I have starting on the primary screen, but the second screen i have to open a terminal and compiz --replace12:58
SkippersBosssamwise_ http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=632612:58
|Anthony|i'm looking at the session files and am not sure how to configure it in xfce-session.xml12:58
|Anthony|anyone here even know what i'm talking about?12:59
theuseri have a ubuntu laptop that turns it self of quite frequently12:59
theuseri dont have time to see what the messages on the console is before it shuts down12:59
GridCube|Anthony|, addint the string to >Configuration>session adn startup>autostart of applications" doesnt work?12:59
theuserwhich logfiles would contain this info12:59
|Anthony|GridCube, no there is a way to make it load instead of having the xfce desktop load. no need to load xfce first than replace. its a waste of time and resources13:00
|Anthony|lol13:00
Mathiastheuser: checked the log?13:00
|Anthony|theuser, check /var/log/syslog13:01
Mathiasthere's logs of everything! (or almost everything) :)13:01
theuserwhich file?13:01
|Anthony|theuser, check /var/log/syslog13:01
GridCubewelp, this is a xubuntu channel, you migh want to find a compiz channel  |Anthony|13:02
|Anthony|theuser, also might look at /var/log/kern.log13:02
|Anthony|GridCube: no, it would be a xubuntu question seeing as how compiz doesn't start itself and it is an xubuntu config type file that i need to make an entry in to launch compiz13:04
Mathiasmight be someone messed with your crontab just for a laugh :P13:04
|Anthony|compiz doesn't really care which de it runs in13:04
|Anthony|hehe13:04
GridCubei dont think so, you just said you dont want to start xfce, so i dont think it has nothing to do with that13:04
GridCubeyou need to tell compiz to start on other screen, thats not xfce fault13:05
|Anthony|GridCube, do you know where the xfce4-session.xml file lives?13:05
theuserIm seeing a bunch of "Critical temperature reached, shutting down"13:05
theusermay that be the issue13:05
theuser?13:05
|Anthony|theuser, what laptop do you have/13:06
GridCube|Anthony|, >whereis xfce4-session.xml13:06
theuserdell N403013:06
Mathiass/\/\?/13:06
|Anthony|GridCube, i know where it is. i also know that that is the file i need to edit to launch compiz instead of the xfce window manager13:07
|Anthony|;)13:07
|Anthony|i just am not sure of the syntax for the entry i need to make13:07
|Anthony|GridCube, all the pretty gui frontends people use to change their settings have a backend to them. and sometimes there are more options in the files than there are in the gui13:08
GridCube|Anthony|, i do understand that, but xubuntu doesnt ship compiz for a reason, its complicated to work with, if you really need advanced help on it you need to find a channel where people who knows how to work whit it actually reside, its not that im asking you to leave, but you wont get much help from us here, because we dont really know13:10
|Anthony|lol at least you're honest13:11
|Anthony|theuser, http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/p/19419961/19986330.aspx13:12
|Anthony|you have probably found that link already though13:12
|Anthony|theuser, looks like there is a diagnostic mode there in the bios which would *hopefully* give you more specific info13:14
|Anthony|an error code we can use to reference13:14
theuseryes, thank you for the help anyhow13:14
|Anthony|theuser, what type of surface do you put the laptop on while in use?13:15
Mathias"also see: rinsed the fan(s) from dust lately?"13:15
|Anthony|hehe that's always a good place to start13:16
theuserwhen in doubt why not just bust out the hammer13:18
Mathiassledgehammer is better13:18
Mathiasbut a "vertical mill" is even better :P13:19
theuserI have a toolkit that can hack any computer13:20
theuserreally13:20
theuserI bet a pint of beer i can hack any of your computers in less than 5seconds if i have physical access to it13:21
theuser:-p13:21
Mathias:P13:22
Mathiasphysical access is fun13:22
Mathiasthat's how i got xubuntu on this laptop, and admin on windows13:23
theuserI was  thinking more in the lines of  finishing of some brew, then grab an ax an hack your computer13:24
theuserAnyway i figgured out its failing hardrive... which is kind of what my little toe tingling was telling me13:24
Mathias:s13:25
Mathiasthat sucks13:25
theusergood time for a SSD swap13:25
Mathias^^13:25
Mathiasxubuntu with ssd must be really fast13:25
theuserwell the good news is its still running so i'll slap the bitch into a usb cage and get the data out13:25
theuseryes13:25
theuservery13:26
theuserif you have a 2-3 year old computer13:26
theuseri'd sugest investing in ram and SSD instead of buying new13:26
Mathiasi got a "brand new" one and a laptop from 200413:26
theuserThat'll probably take 2gb ram13:27
theuserand a 32-64gb SSD13:27
Mathiasthe old one?13:27
Mathiasnah, it got IDE13:27
theuserand it outperform a budget new computer13:28
theuserahw snap13:28
Mathiasbut i have shoved one gb ram into it13:28
theuserIDE ssd is expensive industrial stuff usual13:28
Mathiasmade it so much faster13:28
theuserIt would still be a great thin client tough13:28
Mathiasi use as a backup-server :P13:29
theuserhaha13:29
Mathiasand a nfs-share :P13:29
Mathiasworks great for that13:29
theuserI have a p4 running as thin13:29
Mathiasintel pentium m :P13:29
theuserbut i think a $60 android thing, about the size of a cigarete pack would probably out perform it13:30
Mathiasbut i got 2 p4 servers as backup for the laptop :P13:30
Mathiasa rpi will out perform it :P13:30
Mathiasstill waiting on the rpi though :s13:30
designbybeckGreetings all, I'm fairly new to Xubuntu, having use Ubuntu and Kubuntu mostly. I do a project where we take donated computers, install FOSS and train kids how to use them. They get to keep the computers at the end.13:46
designbybeckWe are about to lunch another session this weekend. But this go around I have some under powered systems. 512mb, P4,  standard MoBo video13:47
designbybeckI have Xubuntu running on it. I guess I'm just asking how to jazz it up a bit. Maybe best themes? and such?13:48
GridCubedesignbybeck, if you need speed you might want to try lubuntu aswell, but as themes go you can check: http://xfce-look.org/13:50
GridCubetake to notice that you will need theme that are compatible with gtk2 and gtk3, if not things will be messed up13:50
designbybeckI wasn't a fan of lubuntu GridCube and acutally Xubuntu is running well enough with those specs. I don't think I'll get to teach them Blender 3D this go around though! ;) But I did open OpenShot and edited a 480p video13:52
designbybecki'm chcking the themes now13:52
GridCubei've found that MyPaint is pretty fun to play with aswel, my nephew and niece love it13:53
designbybeckah yes! I am not an artist but I love MyPaint. I do faculty development. And i've showed people how to use MyPaint as a whiteboard for their classroom13:54
GridCube:)13:54
designbybeckand of course David Revoy is a great showcase to the power of MyPaint and an Open Source Artistic workflow13:54
GridCubekids like it because it has a gazillion painting tools, and its not complicated like gimp13:55
designbybeckyeah! Have you tried Pencil?13:55
GridCubenope13:56
GridCubei do love pinta tho, even if its developed on mono13:57
GridCubeits by far the best painting tool on linux nowdays13:57
designbybeckPencil lets you animate as well13:57
GridCube:) ill see it when i have time13:57
GridCube:D but we should probably go to ot13:57
GridCube!ot13:57
ubottu#xubuntu is the Xubuntu support channel, #xubuntu-devel for discussion regarding development of Xubuntu, and #xubuntu-offtopic is for random chatter. Welcome!13:58
designbybeckgotcha13:58
designbybeckGridCube: I hav a bunch of jumpdrives with random LiveBoot Linux installs for testing. Is there a way to check to see what Flavor the Distro is on a bootable drive without having to boot it?14:10
designbybeckit has all the boot casper dists md5 ldlinux.sys autoruninf ect14:10
blackgatonegrodesignbybeck, yes, usually by looking at the name of the iso file.14:10
designbybeckno no, it is already burnt to the jumpdrive14:11
designbybeckso there isn't an iso here14:11
blackgatonegrodesignbybeck, well that depends on the linux version.14:11
designbybeckit is ready to be booted off. I normally just throw it in and reburn another distro to it14:11
designbybecki was just hoping for a quick way to view it without having to burn again, or take the time to boot off it to see14:11
blackgatonegrodesignbybeck, so, you dont' even want to use grub2?14:11
designbybeckblackgatonegro:  I'm just trying to see what ISO did get burnt to the jumpdrive before I use it14:12
designbybeckoh maybe the README.diskdefins file14:12
blackgatonegrodesignbybeck well, just look at the files there, usually there is a txt orhtml file that says what distro is14:13
designbybeckhmm maybe not14:13
blackgatonegroin puppy linux case is the name of a sfs file14:14
blackgatonegrofor others distros14:14
blackgatonegrothere is sually a readme file14:14
blackgatonegroor a html file that says "Welcome to *name of distro/version*"14:15
designbybeckI didn't see that on this usb14:15
GridCubedesignbybeck, there is a way, lsb_release -sc14:15
blackgatonegrolook for a "grub" folder14:15
GridCubeshould work14:16
designbybeckabout to install xubuntu and dual boot a windows7 netbook so I can go chat with you guys while I'm testing out the xubuntu systems we'll be giving away this weekend14:16
GridCubeoh, you meant not by booting it14:16
blackgatonegroif that usb boots by grub you can usually see the version on one of the grub files14:16
designbybeckGridCube:  I was talking about before even booting, just plugging it into your system14:16
designbybeckyeah14:16
GridCubewell then check /etc/lsb-release :P14:17
GridCubeits a txt file14:17
designbybeckthere isn't an /etc/ folder14:18
GridCubeD: what?14:18
blackgatonegrodesignbybeck, stesp one is there any README file?14:18
designbybeckoh I found it14:18
designbybeckkinda14:18
blackgatonegroread that one first14:18
designbybeck/dists/precise14:18
blackgatonegrook, is ubuntu14:19
GridCubemmm14:19
blackgatonegroyou have any clue what version?14:19
designbybeckah yes that README.diskdefines does show the distro14:19
blackgatonegroit could be xubuntu14:19
blackgatonegroubuntu14:19
blackgatonegrolubuntu14:19
blackgatonegroand so on14:19
designbybeckgood now that we have that solved, in that time, I already burnt xbuutnu to the flashdrive14:19
blackgatonegrothere you go14:19
blackgatonegrooccans razor as it finest14:19
designbybeck#define DISKNAME  Xubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i38614:20
blackgatonegroA LTS is usually the best14:20
blackgatonegrowant to know a secret?14:21
blackgatonegrothere is an ubuntu even lighter than lubuntu14:23
blackgatonegrobut you need a really good internet conection14:23
designbybeck....go on......14:23
blackgatonegrohttp://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/minimal14:23
blackgatonegroicewm ubuntu14:24
Pici!minimal14:24
ubottuThe Minimal CD image is very small in size, and it downloads most packages from the Internet during installation, allowing you to select only those you want (the installer is like the one on the !Alternate CD). See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD14:24
blackgatonegroyes, but using it with icewm is the trick to make it very light14:24
designbybeckwow14:24
designbybeckthat is light14:24
blackgatonegrohttp://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/minimal * there is how to14:25
blackgatonegrothe bad thing?14:25
designbybeckthe hard problem I'm having right now with these systems, is we try to get them to kids for school work. So we are doing more graphics and video14:25
blackgatonegroyou have to dowload about 1 gb of stuff14:25
blackgatonegrowell14:25
blackgatonegrosugar is ok14:25
blackgatonegrobut is mostly english only14:25
blackgatonegroxubuntu can work fine if you use light software14:26
blackgatonegroicewm is the trick to make a really light ubuntu14:26
blackgatonegroyou can also try puppy linux14:27
blackgatonegrobut at least 256 of ram is recomended14:27
blackgatonegro12.4 LTS is recomended as is the last ubuntu with a cd image14:30
designbybeckhow do you install a theme?14:40
designbybeckis there no easy install under Apperance?14:40
designbybeckI was trying this one http://jurialmunkey.deviantart.com/#/d316eqx14:41
designbybecksays Open Appearance Prefernces Click Install ?14:41
designbybeckI'm not finding that14:41
blackgatonegroin xubuntu14:43
designbybeckyes14:43
blackgatonegrogo to settings/ settings manager / appearance14:44
designbybeckok14:44
GridCubedesignbybeck, :) see the xubuntu.org faq's :D14:46
designbybeckhmmm14:46
GridCubeyou want number 7: http://xubuntu.org/news/faq-1110-oneiric/14:46
GridCube:D14:46
designbybeckwell yes I knew there was that way, but I was thinking there might be a nice install button or something14:47
GridCubenope14:47
designbybeckAgain these are things I'll be teaching the kids, but we'll be doing commandline stuff anyway so I'll make them sink or swim ;)14:47
designbybeckThanks14:47
GridCubeno install thingy, make a wishlist bug and ill back it up for 13.1014:48
GridCube:P14:48
GridCubei mean .0414:48
citrGridCube,  it's designbybeck, don't kick me for two nicks15:04
citrI'm on the netbook beside the computer i'm installing software on. I put the theme in /home/.themes/THEMENAME15:04
citrbut i don't see it when I go to apperance15:04
GridCubemmmhm thats weird15:13
GridCubetry /usr/share/themes15:13
GridCubethat shoudl work15:14
citrk let me  try that15:14
GridCubebut then, where are you looking for the theme? in >settings>appareance?15:14
recon_lapis it possible to run a duel monitor through the VGA port on a laptop with intel HD 4000 card?15:14
citryes settings/apparence15:15
Sysicitr: if you had settings dialog open when adding theme, close and re-open it15:15
citri did Sysi , even restarted the system for the heck of it15:15
Sysirecon_lap: should be, try xrandr or arandr15:16
Sysicitr: what files folder "themename" contains?15:16
Sysi(if there's less than eight)15:16
citrAWN EMERALD METACITY a-new-hope.tar.gz README Sysi15:17
Sysicitr: extract that tarball and maybe move it's contents to themename or themename215:18
GridCubeoh its compressed15:18
Sysiyou need to have gtk-something and maybe xfwm4 folders inside themename15:18
citrop! That did it !15:19
citrThanks Sysi15:20
citralthought I think the way this theme works , this video card can't support the graphics?15:20
Sysiahem?15:20
GridCubecitr, that should not be any difference from before15:21
GridCube but remember that themes need to work in both gtk3 and gtk2 spaces15:21
citrthis is what I was trying to use http://xfce-look.org/content/show.php/Divergence+IV+-+%22A+New+Hope%22?content=13389215:22
GridCubecitr, also sometimes if ~/.themes fail, they will work on /usr/share/themes15:22
GridCubedont really know why15:22
citrit has been a long time since I've done theme stuff with gtk2 315:23
citri normally use ubuntu unity these days15:23
citrand kde15:23
citrso it looks like it is the window border part not displaying15:23
Sysiyou need to set that in window manager settings (stupid I know)15:24

scheurirecon_lap, thanks...I will21:39
recon_lapscheuri: also , are you familular with your BIOS and setting the boot device ?21:40
designbybeckah, nice link recon_lap21:40
scheurirecon_lap, I came across this tool....and I wondered if that is not a little overkill for me (I can after all boot into my installation, I just have to press F8 at BIOS to get the choice of the device21:40
designbybeckif it is a new install and you can quickly do it, then maybe a new install would be best21:41
scheurirecon_lap, yes, I am....I had xubuntu 11.10 installed and now reinstalled with 12.04.1...no change in BIOS or boot device order21:41
recon_lapscheuri: you might have left a CD or Flash drive in21:41
scheurirecon_lap, thought about that, but no...I am afraid all my devices are unhooked21:41
scheuriI am just wondering if a "grup-install /dev/sda" (and I am positiv it is /dev/sda is correct) might do what I am thinking it does...installing grub in the MBR of that device21:42
recon_lapscheuri: so what is your boot order?21:42
scheurirecon_lap, its a) SSD (which it is supposed to be), b) another HD, c) another HD, d) CD-ROM21:43
recon_lapscheuri: ok, seems you have the basics, not much of an expert with install problems, all my installs have gone well for years :)21:45
scheurirecon_lap, :)...well, I guess I must have missed a tiny little thing at the end of the installation as I have not changed anything in the BIOS or the boot order...21:45
recon_lapscheuri: I would think that doing what you did before will likely end in the same result21:45
scheuriI guess I will update grub and then install it on /dev/sda and try again :)21:46
scheuriwell, I will reboot...I will report back :)21:46

Micr0nHello23:15
martinphoneis it common to find broken avi indexes and how hard it is to fix em?23:15
recon_lap!hi | Micr0n23:16
ubottuMicr0n: Hi!, Welcome to #xubuntu! Feel free to ask questions and help people out. The channel guidelines are at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IRC/Guidelines. Enjoy your stay!23:16
Micr0nI've encountered a broken avi index before I think VLC media player fixed it for me automagically23:17
recon_lapmartinphone: there are so many avi encoders that error are common , different program and different codex can help, dont know about fixing them though23:17
Micr0nI've been having an issue with streaming video / music stuttering when using google reader or google docs.  Anyone else heard of this?23:19
ochosiprobably gdocs or greader eat up your cpu/ram?23:20
Micr0nI hope not... spent too much on this machine for that :)23:21
Unit193I'd generally like to blame flash for that.23:21
Unit193And yep, VLC asks if you want to fix indexes.23:22
Micr0nI thought I remembered it doing that for me at some point.  Good ol' VLC23:22
