[14:48] Hi at all [14:48] hey CarstenG [14:48] Hi hannie [14:49] everything ok with the screenshots? [14:50] CarstenG, do you happen to know what the link to crocodoc (Quantal) is? [14:50] I asked Kevin, but he may not be awake yet [14:50] no, sorry [14:51] np [14:51] I'll get an answer to my email shortly [14:51] What is crocodoc? [14:51] That is a shared document where everyone can add comment to the draft pdf of Quantal manual [14:52] It is meant so everyone can proofread and add comment where corrections are necessary [14:52] ah [14:52] ok [14:53] I think there was not yet any release for this draft, or? [14:53] very useful! I asked Kevin to send the link to the mailing list once more (I lost the previous email) [14:54] We'll see if Kevin has already put it on crocodoc [14:55] Although not everone has finished his editing work, we should have a reasonable draft by now [14:56] Yes, sure. We have a little delay with our draft releases. :-) [14:56] I just pushed the last screenshot. [14:56] good to hear. You have done a great job! [14:57] I am just finishing the Dutch translation of Precise version, 147 strings to go [14:58] Thanks. [14:58] Same to you for the translation [14:58] ;) [14:59] dutch will be the third finished version [14:59] of Precise? I think not [14:59] ah, yes 3rd [14:59] but I see 229 [14:59] left strings... [15:00] or? [15:00] I am working in Precise, not Precise-e2 because of this fuzzies problem [15:00] Later I will try and merge the 2 [15:00] ah, ok. Now is see [15:01] If it does not work well, I will publish Precise, not Precise-et. What's the difference? [15:01] well, some bug fixes [15:01] I refuse to do more copying and pasting or translating all over again :( [15:01] missing chapter{advanced topics} for example in precise... [15:02] ah, yes that was one of my own catches. I have to change that for sure [15:03] thanks for reminding me :) [15:03] you are welcome :-) [15:04] Do you have new info about the fuzzies problem in LP? [15:04] I gave up. --previous did not work and I do not get much support on LP (lack of manpower) [15:05] I understand they have so many other urgent matters to handle... [15:07] ok [15:07] The merging of msgid and msgstr is rather complicated in Launchpad, and I do not want to mess up things there [15:07] it's bad that you don't get much support there [15:08] it's sad, but as I said before, we are all volunteers with limited time on our hands [15:08] But if I remember correctly, you wanted to merge old translations to new po files based on the new pot file... [15:09] That is why we, Ubuntu Dutch Translators have decided to only translate the LTS versions of the manual [15:10] correct, but old translations are not transferred if there is only a slight difference in the msgid [15:10] Lokalize does this very well. I should contact the developers of Lokalize [15:11] Difference: Lokalize = offline, Launchpad=online [15:12] yes, this we could use, or? generate new po files offline and upload them to LP [15:12] then LP has "only" to recognize the fuzzies as suggestions. [15:12] I did merge Lucid (100% translated) with Precise [15:13] but LP throws the fuzzies away [15:13] when I upload the merged file to LP [15:13] BTW, do you mean this crocodoc? http://personal.crocodoc.com/HbPBlKU [15:14] its the precise version... [15:14] So now I have to copy the fuzzies from Lokalize to LP manually [15:14] If that is the Precise version, then it is not what I wanted [15:14] ah, that's the problem, I see. [15:16] Perhaps Kevin has not yet published the Quantal version after all [15:16] Yes, the other way is the same problem with LP. If you export the po files you don't get the suggestions. They are lost completely. AS fuzzies would be better.. [15:17] right, complicated as I said :( [15:17] Do you have a bug report on LP for this fuzzies problem? [15:17] Well, sort of. Low priority for the last 2 years [15:17] So we could post the link on the list to increase the heat a little bit. :-) [15:19] this could be a solution, but first I should start another bug report explaining exactly what I want [15:19] The one I refer to is from David Planella (long time ago, and not exactly the same) [15:20] ah ok [15:20] But it is a good idea, which I will keep in mind [15:20] Yes [15:20] If there is no bug report, then nobody will fix it. :) [15:21] true, but I do not have much confidence that it can or will be fixed soon after I report it [15:21] Danilo Segan is a good guy, but het has lots of other priorities [15:22] *he [15:22] But thanks for helping me with this [15:23] Who is he? [15:23] He is a big shot at Launchpad [15:23] daniloS [15:24] btw, I have sent an email this morning to editors who have not finished their section [15:25] hopefully we get some response before the end of this week [15:27] Yes, end of this week we want to release the public draft [15:27] oki, back to work then ;) [15:27] maybe this is the time for crocodoc? [15:28] yes, it can be put on crocodoc [15:28] I have already mailed Kevin about this this morning
