[14:24] * xTEMPx looks around all sneaky-like. === xTEMPx is now known as xTEMPLARx [14:25] * xTEMPLARx is baffled by all the people who gripe about Gnome 3 as though its the most broken pile of software ever installed on a PC. I have NO problems using it on a daily basis. It doesn't impede my workflow and there's nothing missing or obvious things it "won't let me do". [14:29] xTEMPLARx: where have you been? [14:29] and good morning [14:30] morning average_guy [14:31] and xTEMPLARx i tend to agree i lik ethe work flow with gnome-shell [14:31] heya [14:31] been off work some, and workin like a banshee when I was here lately [14:32] today's a bit quieter, although I'm sure I've just jinxed myself [14:32] ok that explains it then :) [14:32] may the trouble begin :) [14:34] speak of the devil [14:34] my least favorite caller is on hold [14:35] ha ha xTEMPLARx, glad its not me! [14:45] oh great [14:45] it was one of those "hey, just touching base with you because we're having some problems that I can't intelligently describe, but I'm just letting you know I'm gonna call you in an hour or two from the site. [14:45] how bad is it xTEMPLARx? [14:45] ...kind of calls [14:45] ha ha xTEMPLARx lucky you! [14:45] i didn't finish my sentence lol [14:47] ha ha :) [14:47] they expect you to make magic [14:58] indeed :D [14:59] well make it happen ! :) [14:59] this particular customer I dislike quite a bit because a) he's not very smart, but b) he obviously hangs on to his job by BSing his way thru conversations [14:59] reminds me of a middle schooler [14:59] like he thinks he's got everybody fooled [14:59] * xTEMPLARx is being mean [14:59] * xTEMPLARx will stop now. [14:59] those are the peolpe that makes you want to do things you shouldn't do :) [14:59] * wrst thinks xTEMPLARx is beign honest [15:00] if you ain't got nuttin' nice t'type, don't type nuttin'! [15:00] i shoulda just kept mah trap shut [15:00] =] [15:02] its less fun if you do it that way! [15:02] also less likely to get me in trouble [15:02] i have an innate tendency to speak before thinking [15:02] its not good [15:12] xTEMPLARx: i certainly have that issue... all the time [15:13] makes life difficult sometimes [15:13] esp. with teh misses [15:28] ha ha i don't know what you are talking about :) [15:44] xTEMPLARx: roy clark never really got the recognition he deserved as a musician [15:48] not at all [15:48] he was amazing [15:48] wrst: you ever use turntable.fm? [15:48] can you listen to music at work? [15:49] as a guitar player i think he should be ranked up there with say clapton, hendrix, vaughn etc different style but probably better [15:49] yes i can somewhat when i am not "entertaining" :) [15:50] http://turntable.fm/christian_anything2 [15:54] ok just signed up, just for you xTEMPLARx :) [15:54] wewt! [15:56] so [15:56] what it is is a DJ-style setup [15:56] you build up a playlist [15:56] and you get an empty DJ slot [15:56] when your turn comes, your next song in y our list plays [15:56] or the top song in the list [15:56] then it round-robins thru everybody [15:57] this room has a tendency to be pretty busy most of the time, so they have it automated to allow you two songs then it relieves you of your post. [15:57] ahh cool [15:57] to get in the queue to DJ, you type .addme in the room [15:57] and it'll tell you when your turn is [15:57] ok cool [15:57] if you're not able to pay attention to it, though, you may lose your turn [15:57] I lose my turn frequently [15:57] :D [15:58] not working the greatest for em at the moment [15:58] choppy [16:00] * wrst tries another browser [16:01] oh another thing... its generally considered good form to hit the like button for everybody's song [16:02] if you really really don't like a song, but its not inappropriate for the room, just don't click anything. Only if it's inappropriate for the room should lame be clicked [16:02] =] [16:04] ok you know me too well xTEMPLARx! [16:05] well its more of a considerate thing to do sort of scenario... we don't click lame just because someone's idea of a good song isn't our own. [16:06] xTEMPLARx: i think i'm in que some hw [16:06] *how [16:06] not in queue, you're in a dj slot [16:06] so now [16:07] make sure your song queue on the right there has a song in it. do a search for a good song by any christian artist [16:07] already got it [16:08] including josh turner but not carrie underwood :) [16:08] O_o [16:09] xTEMPLARx: this seems like some mashup of irc and pandora? :) [16:09] kinda [16:09] and xTEMPLARx i shose a 7:57 second song was that rude for the first go around just now realized that [16:10] then put somethin else in your queue :D [16:10] oh for your second song [16:10] 7:57 ain't so bad, but I tend to shy away from them unless I know there haven't been any insanely long songs in a while [16:10] and we tend not to go much over that [16:10] once in a while is okay [16:10] ok well count it to ignorance :) [16:10] most of the songs i like are like that [16:12] i'm still choppy will have to try this again when i get home its pretty interesting [16:15] there's more to life than Hillsong United :P [16:15] :D [16:42] no acually this was not hillsong xTEMPLARx [18:25] argh! [18:32] hehe [18:32] fixed it :D [18:40] congrats xTEMPLARx, you made a lot of noise [18:40] :) [18:41] i thought nvidia had randomly broken, but then I remembered I got a gnome-shell upgrade and probably a kernel upgrade a bit ago [18:43] ahh [18:43] all well? [18:53] thus far [18:53] i had to reboot because I replaced teh power supply in this machine around lunch time today [18:53] and when it came back up it was at the CLI [18:53] lol === elijah-m_ is now known as elijah-mbp
