[06:35] good morning [07:28] hey dpm [07:29] dpm, well rested from the marathon? :) [07:29] dholbach, yeah, I still went out on Friday, but had the weekend to rest :) [07:29] how about you? [07:31] doing well - I took a small nap on Friday but then managed to stay up until 20:00 [07:48] morning [07:50] hey czajkowski [07:52] dholbach: morning [10:30] mornin [10:30] Good evening cjohnston [10:37] dpm, did you mail all your donors? [10:38] dpm, I find the justgiving page a bit hard to use in this regard - for the first few people I resorted to using LP to figure out email addresses :) [10:46] heh nice idea [10:46] ;p [10:49] czajkowski, do you have an "LP" highlight? ;-) [10:49] dholbach: I'd never get work done then [10:49] haha, I can imagine, yes [10:58] dholbach: my understanding is we decided to not do 30 minutes [10:59] cjohnston, aha? [10:59] cjohnston, is Jono aware of that? :) [10:59] PM [10:59] ok [11:37] dholbach, that's a great idea. Not sure I'll be able to figure out all e-mail addresses, but I'll have a go at it. [11:38] dpm, OK - if you can find an option in the justgiving page to be a bit more clever about it, let me know :) [11:42] dholbach, I'll have a look, but if you haven't found it, probably there isn't a way [13:26] hey mhall119 [13:30] czajkowski, am I the only one getting "There is 1 error." when trying to file a blueprint? :) [13:31] I'm on https://blueprints.launchpad.net/sprints/uds-r/+addspec and quite sure that I added content to all fields which are not optional [13:32] that bug is gonna cause me no end of grief today [13:32] hum, even filling all the fields does not help [13:32] ok - what do I need to do? [13:32] 3~https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/1062207 [13:32] Ubuntu bug 1062207 in launchpad "Unable to raise blueprint" [Critical,Triaged] [13:32] will be worked on tomrorw as person on that branch is off today [13:32] thanks [13:32] np [13:33] ah, found the workaround [13:33] perfect [13:33] for everyone who is struggling too: [13:33] a workaround: [13:33] - change the information type to proprietary [13:33] - change it again to public [13:33] - submit the form [13:34] perfect [13:34] :-D [13:34] :) [13:36] dholbach: should have registered your BPs on thursday :) [13:36] yeah, sure [13:36] :-P [13:37] that way whenever there's a mistake on them, you get to blame lack of sleep [13:37] :) [13:50] bkerensa: ping [14:34] marcoceppi, you have a sputnik laptop don't you? What wifi chipset does it have? [14:35] (and anyone else who has one) [14:38] popey: my dad has one, I can check if needed [14:38] http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Dell_XPS_13_Ultrabook#WLAN_Card suggests centrino... [14:39] thanks JoseeAntonioR only if it's within reach :) [14:40] popey: my dad says he's got the one listed in the page, and he's got bluetooth, so [14:40] Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6230 802.11 a/g/n with Intel® Smart Connect Technology + Bluetooth 3.0 [14:40] ta [15:30] alright, I'm calling it a day a bit earlier today - see you all tomorrow! :) === Guest33844 is now known as balloons === scott-work is now known as Guest22676 [18:50] can somebody reddit http://mhall119.com/2012/10/six-geeks-for-charity/ for me please? [18:52] bkerensa: ^^ [18:55] and a retweet if anyone feels so inclined: https://twitter.com/mhall119/status/255380642961952769 [19:03] mhall119: doing it now [19:06] upvotes: http://www.reddit.com/r/Ubuntu/comments/115gli/six_geeks_one_sleepless_night_and_513370_for/ [19:17] thanks JoseeAntonioR [19:17] np [19:22] man, I gotta get nginx setup on my blog [19:25] isn't there a charm for it? [19:26] oops, no charm for nginx [19:31] JoseeAntonioR: there is for Wordpress + nginx, marcoceppi and jcastro made it [19:31] maybe that'll work [19:43] JoseeAntonioR: ping? [19:43] mhall119: ping [19:43] bkerensa: PONG [19:43] oops, cap fail [19:46] bkerensa: pong [19:46] mhall119: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/10/alpha-version-of-reditr-makes-debut [19:48] bkerensa: not to nit-pick, but I think it's "had written", not "had wrote" [19:48] or "we wrote" [19:50] mhall119: it was fixed already cache is old :( and I cant clear the cache [19:51] that would be so much cooler for me if it wasn't a chrome extension [19:51] mhall119: yeah and the weird thing is they encrypted portions of the extension and profile [19:51] unsure why [19:52] is it open source? [19:54] mhall119: no [19:54] that might be why, then [20:57] Can anyone remember the official http apt-url redirect? [21:20] found it http://apt.ubuntu.com/p/vlc [22:14] doctormon: unless you're giving it directly to someone you know has Ubuntu, we're recommending using https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/vlc/ instead [22:14] actually either way, we recommend that one [22:14] it gives more information to the user before trying to install it [22:14] and it'll work for non-Ubuntu users too [22:14] mhall119: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AptUrl needs to be updated with your information [22:23] OK great http://ubuntu-artists.deviantart.com is now updated with fresh links and I don't have to worry about them not working on other systems. [22:23] Thanks mhall119 [22:50] mhall119: are you using dnsmasq caching currently? [22:50] I just enabled it and saw a noticeable boost in loads :) [23:39] bkerensa: probably not, since i have no idea what that is [23:40] mhall119: it is a application that does dns masquerading and caching its been apart of Ubuntu since 12.04 but the caching is disabled by default so unless you enable it will not benefit you (its disabled due to trivial security concerns) [23:40] Upstream has it enabled [23:41] basically it takes your 150-400 most commonly queried domain names and caches their dns [23:41] reducing dns look ups results in faster load times
