YuriyVidineevHi! Looks like I found bug in up-to-date Kubuntu 12.10 on my new Lenovo ThinkPad T530. After suspend it lost sound at all. After reboot it's ok. After some googling I found some similar already fixed bugs. Sould I create a new bug and where? Thank you. Sorry for my English01:28

YuriyVidineevThank you! Done :)03:45

xnoxRiddell:  ScottK: why the checkbox bug can  not be an opportunity respin target for Kubuntu?07:56

Riddellxnox: it's arguably not a bug (it's a usability issue) and there's no fix yet?09:36

skaetRiddell,   https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QuantalQuetzal/ReleaseManifest <- can you please add the "Sign off date" for the ones we will be trying for for 12.10.   There's some stale image references in there for Kubuntu I think,  and I want to get the list cleaned up before monday.18:16
Riddelloh I suppose I can't be distracted by space jumps any longer :)18:19
* ScottK pokes at people to do ISO testing ...18:21
yofelwell, so he came down from space safe, back to work ^^18:24
QuintasanYeah18:28
QuintasanScottK: I'm on it.18:28
* yofel does the upgrade tests18:29
yofelwill do some iso's in KVM later as time permits18:29
yofelam I the only one that finds the "encrypt home directory" choice useless if you're already using encrypted LVM?19:00
yofelhaven't yet tested what happens if you use both19:01
xnoxyofel: it's two different encryption technologies.19:01
xnoxyofel: one is per-user, the other one is per-machine.19:01
yofelok, that makes sense then, thanks19:01
xnoxyofel: one might want to encrypt whole machine, but also individual users (to prevent alice seeing bobs files, even if both have root)19:02
yofeltrue19:02
xnoxyofel: but there is a bug open to de-emphasise encrypting home directory ;-) if full disk encryption was selected =)19:02
yofelhm...19:24
yofelrekonq isn't supposed to open .deb files in Ark, right?19:24
Riddellyofel: I would think not but I'm drawing a blank on what replaces gdebi19:41
yofelqapt-deb-installer19:41
yofelthat's what dolphin opens, but rekonq opens the ar-archive in Ark19:42
yofelark-kpart that is19:42
Riddelloh foo, some settings saying embedded takes precedence over non-embedded19:43
QuintasanThat's why I sometimes hate software.19:46
QuintasanUser clicks a deb pacakge19:46
QuintasanBETTER OPEN IT WITH ARK19:46
yofelhow I got to this:19:46
yofelopen rekonq -> open google -> window tells me to install chrome -> click on it -> download it -> click 'open' -> ark opens19:47
yofelalso, saving the file tried to save it in /, not $HOME/Downloads. Let's see if this happens on every install19:48
Riddellmm, that's surprising19:51
QuintasanGOD DAMN IT19:59
QuintasanChrist, the installer is either bugged or I'm doing something wrong19:59
QuintasanIt tries to download files despite having no internet connection20:00

afiestasRiddell: apachelogger fixed the bug21:40
afiestasgoing to do a reviewboard now, and you can test it  and add the patch as well21:40
afiestasif we are on time for the releas21:40
afiestase21:40
Riddellafiestas: the suspend on close bug?21:44
afiestasyes21:51
afiestasRiddell: yes21:51
afiestasgare go, will send patch to kubuntu-devel21:52
Riddellapachelogger: probably a SRU by now, want to do it or shall I?22:00
* apachelogger did not fix it :P22:00
apacheloggerthat is to say I do not have teh patch ;)22:00
apacheloggerbut I can SRU once I have it22:00
QuintasanRiddell: amd64 and i386 Desktop installs using entire disk went fine here. I will try manual partitioning amd64 tomorrow on my machine and i386 in kvm22:00
RiddellQuintasan: lovely thanks22:01

apachelogger"it is architecturally wrong to have an interdependence"23:23
apacheloggerafiestas: why no toDisk, ToRam for upgradeProfilesv2?23:26
afiestasapachelogger: is it using it?23:26
apacheloggerno23:26
afiestasI did a few attemps so maybe I forgot to implement the last one23:27
afiestasthen that's why no toDisk toRam23:27
afiestasbecause it doesn't need it23:27
apacheloggermy point is that either you should comment that or introduce them and Q_UNUSED them :P23:27
apacheloggerotherwise one would have to read the function to see that the args are not necessary23:28
yofelcan it be that the 'Live (netboot)' testcase is supposed to be 'Live (netbook)' ?23:30
apacheloggerlol23:32
apacheloggeryofel: very much so23:32
apacheloggerwhat with not having a netboot live setup :P23:33
yofelwell yeah, that's what didn't make sense ^^23:33
apacheloggerdon't ask silly questions then :P23:34
apacheloggeroh great, yet again I failed to go to bed at a time to catch the 8am lecture23:34
apacheloggerwohooo23:34
apachelogger-.-23:34
ScottKapachelogger: Are you saying you admit it's late?23:36
apacheloggerno, I am saying it is too late to go to bed and get up at 623:37
ScottKYou should realize that the connection between when you go to bed and can you make it to the 8AM lecture is purely in your head.    You can make it.23:37
apacheloggerperfect time to do bug reading though23:37
apacheloggerScottK: being there and being there are two different things ;)23:38
ScottKWell sure.23:39
yofelcan someone else please do the 64bit upgrade test too? My KVM session now resulted in useless systems twice (stuff like konsole segfaulting in libkdeui.so.5 when opening it after searching for it in kickoff  etc.)23:41
yofelthe i386 upgrade went perfectly fine, so this is rather odd23:41
afiestasapachelogger: they are necessari23:43
afiestas>S23:43
afiestas:s23:43
afiestasthey are not in v2, which doesn't hav emethods23:43
afiestas*doesn't have arguments23:43
afiestasi fit does,then I screwed the diff23:43
afiestasapachelogger: it doesn't :s23:44
* apachelogger only understood v2 :S23:45
apacheloggerafiestas: read my comment on reviewboard :P23:46
ScottKRiddell: I have a proposed release note for Bug #1066378.23:49

afiestasapachelogger: that patch is a bugfix for 4.9.3, for master we will implement another (better, huge change) solution23:52
apacheloggerafiestas: ah, fair enough then23:54
