gilirbioterror: there is a major problem, it's a daemon which use additional RAM08:07
gilirI don't remember if it's python, but if it's the case, it can't be by default (too heavy)08:08
bioterrorit's python08:08
bioterrorso it's not what the lubuntu is alla bout, program that does all the job without using RAM and CPU and has 0 dependencies ;)08:08
gilirwell adding a python apps launched by default = + 20~30 Mb on a clean session :-/08:10
cristian_cbioterror, when I use this mixer, there is an icon in the tray08:29
cristian_cbioterror, I thought that it was a lightweight mixer08:32
bioterrorwell, you can disable it and revert back to default08:32
bioterrorcheck the usage of RAM and so on08:32
bioterrorand then enable it back and check again the usage08:32
bioterrorand see if there's a difference ;)08:32
cristian_cbioterror, I'll try08:33
cristian_cbioterror, alternatives?08:33
bioterrornope, there's none. I think08:34
cristian_cbioterror, then volti it's the best option :)08:35
cristian_c*is08:35
bioterrorfor you maybe08:35
bioterror:-)08:35
cristian_cbioterror, but there are other mixer for lubuntu :)08:35
cristian_c*are not08:36
cristian_c*mixers08:36
bioterrorI mostly use the PCM channel from volumeicon08:36
bioterrorso not a big problem08:36
bioterrorand I bet most of the people too08:36
bioterroryou have to touch on a working installation about couple of times to other channels in mixer08:37
bioterrorso technically alsamixer does it's job quite well08:37
cristian_cbioterror, ok, but I don'tunderstand why a lubuntu developer has told me that that mixer would be added to the distro, once it was joined in the ubuntu repo08:40
cristian_c*don't08:40
bioterrorwho said that?08:40
cristian_cstephen smally08:40
cristian_che has worked to the lubuntu software center and other software08:40
bioterrorbut he cant alone do that kind of decissions08:41
cristian_cbioterror, but he did not speak in the first person08:41
cristian_cbioterror, he wrote 'we' :D08:43
cristian_cbioterror, an another question08:46
cristian_c*another08:46

F__i__Lactually I am not sure to who should be addressed for the problem, that is, lubuntu, kile or pcmanfm developers16:01

ivan__hi22:47
ivan__I've a problem, I've downloaded the i386 version, but while booting from the cd it says that the cpu doesn't support PAE...22:48
ivan__how do I install it?22:50
Unit193You can only use 1204.22:50
Unit193!pae22:50
ivan__(the cpu is a pentium m 1.6 ghz)22:50
ubottuTo use more than ~3.2GB RAM on a 32bit system you can install the PAE-enabled kernel. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EnablingPAE for more info22:50
Unit193Well, more that the newer kernels only support PAE.22:50
ivan__so 12.04 and then upgrade from there?22:51
Unit193No, 12.04.22:51
ivan__or stay with 12.04 forever?22:51
Unit193Yep, but not forever.  I'd recommend debian or something like that.22:51
ivan__ouch :(22:55
ivan__Unit193: do you mean the compiled kernels on *ubuntu, or the kernel itself that has removed support to non-pae?23:02
ivan__i mean, if i install 12.04, upgrade to 12.10, recompile the kernel, would work?23:04
Unit193ivan__: All the Ubuntu kernels.23:14
ivan__ok :(23:15
Unit193ivan__: Know that only Ubuntu kernels are supported, but I also know the liquorix kernel isn't PAE.23:19
ivan__so I could install 12.04, install liquorix and then upgrade to 12.10?23:20
