jbrooksHi everyone, I set up a launchpad repo to enable automatic building of a package in my ppa. How do I take that bzr repo and build locally?00:26
jbrooksWould #ubuntu-app-devel be a more appropriate room?00:27

darkxstwe seem to have an issue with multiarch not being enabled properly on ubuntu gnome remix, where is this configured?05:32
darkxsttried 'dpkg --add-architecture i386' but still broken ;(05:44
darkxstapt-get update is only picking up i386 packages for ppa. and ddebs.05:47
pittiOdyX: yeah, I agree; changing soname from upstream is pretty much a no-go, as you'll break compatibility to all those third-party printer filters/drivers out there08:03
pittiOdyX: thanks!08:03
OdyXpitti: you want to check the git repository.08:03
OdyXpitti: I made a sh**load of tiny changes now, it looks much cleaner to me now and I plan to upload it to experimental sometimes tomorrow.08:04
OdyXpitti: including moving to dh908:04

darkxsthyperair, yes08:22
darkxsthyperair, join #ubuntu-gnome08:22
hyperairis that official?08:23
darkxstnot yet, but hopefully it will be eventually, atleast that is the plan08:23
hyperairi see08:24
hyperairthe name ubuntu is trademarked, iirc.08:24
hyperairso if it's not official i don't think you can use that name08:24

tjaaltonis main/universe merge going to happen for raring? if yes, does it allow 'maintained' packages to build-depend on non-maintained packages (to enable some features)?09:45
micahgtjaalton: well, any package from Debian is maintained and some Ubuntu specific universe packages are maintained as well, but to answer your question, the idea would be to allow former main packages to build depend on former universe packages assuming it doesn't need a runtime dependency (not sure if it's happening this cycle or not)09:47
tjaaltonmicahg: ahh, ok09:49
tsdgeosis there an easy way to get all the packages that are included in the 12.10 iso that get installed by default?09:50
tjaaltonmicahg: right, I meant "supported", not "maintained" :)09:50

janimostgraber, do the config options listed here still cover all that is required for LXC support? http://lxc.teegra.net/#_configuration_options10:19
janimostgraber, are there features required for LXC that may not be in 3.1 (the kernel used on the nexus7) ?10:20

xnox mpt: ivanka: ev: do you have a link to design wire frames from mpt with respect to boot options / recovery /system menu or something11:13
mptxnox, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StartupSettings11:14
ivankaxnox: which ones?11:14
ivankaoops - sorry mpt11:15
ivankaxnox: mpt :-) over to you11:15
hallynslangasek: i haven't tested, but it looks like http://paste.ubuntu.com/1320497/ in domain .xml should let you specify the ovmf bios11:31
hallynso perhaps we only need virt-manager to set that correctly, and no libvirt changes11:31
Laney..11:40
Laneyoops11:40
slangasekhallyn: oh, that seems so obvious :)11:46
slangasekI should try to test that... won't get to it today however11:46
slangasekhallyn: I lied; tested, I still get a BIOS boot11:58
slangasekhallyn: so that doesn't seem to work11:58
slangasekhallyn: confirmed that it's not passed to qemu (quantal version)11:59

DebolazHrmm, empathy doesnt show the message counter in the launcher in 12.10.15:22
DebolazAs far as I can tell, its related to some library update, but I cant see anything about when its supposed to be fixed.15:22
DebolazAnyone know whats the status on that?15:24
dobeyif there's a bug filed already, it's probably best to ask on there about its status15:25

Logan_cjwatson: What does the raring-proposed transition implicate for UDD? (and for all of my pending merge requests: http://code.launchpad.net/~logan )15:38
Logan_micahg: ^15:44
micahgLogan_: idk if UDD is even importing everything right now, there could be issues where something is in --proposed and not migrating which wouldn't be reflected in the release pocket branch15:45
Logan_micahg: okay - but what does that mean in terms of all merge requests? should they be against raring-proposed instead? what if that branch doesn't exist?15:45
Logan_(so many questions :P )15:45
* micahg would like to say use debdiffs, but I'm not sure what the UDD way forward is15:46

jderoseOn Raring, anyone having trouble with dh_sphinxdoc? this is the error:18:31
jderosedh_sphinxdoc: error: unknown JavaScript code: debian/python3-skein-doc/usr/share/doc/python3-skein-doc/html/_static/searchtools.js18:31
[reed]so, how do I get somebody to look at the upload queue for precise-proposed and review my package? :)18:35
Logan_james_w: Are you around?18:44

EtgarDizzcan anyone here help with unity lenses and scopes?18:54
dobeyEtgarDizz: #ubuntu-unity might be a better channel for that18:55
EtgarDizzi tried there as well... no answer :(18:55
dobeywell, most of the unity developers are at UDS, and it's currently ~9pm where they are, so they're probably a bit busy with dinner/beer right now18:57
EtgarDizz:D gotcha18:57
Logan_james_w: I asked cjwatson about this earlier, and he wasn't too sure: What does the raring-proposed transition implicate for UDD? (and for all of my pending merge requests: http://code.launchpad.net/~logan )19:00
Logan_I understand that you are one of the main UDD guys, so I was wondering if you'd have an answer19:00
james_wLogan_, I'm not sure about that either19:00
james_wI'm not sure how it should work19:00
Logan_because, hypothetically, there should probably be merge proposals against the raring-proposed branch19:01
Logan_but that only exists when the maintainer has uploaded something to the repo19:01
Logan_(with the latest changes)19:01
james_wyeah19:02
dobeyLogan_: i would suspect it would work the same way it always has. you propose to the distro packaging branch, and the sponsor deals with the upload19:03
Logan_but, with full UDD, isn't it just merged to the target branch with bar merge and not uploaded separately?19:03
Logan_*bzr19:03
Logan_I could be understanding this incorrectly - I've never maintained a package in Ubuntu myself, just improved others through UDD19:04
dobeyit depends on the package19:06
dobeygenerally teams that do that, maintain the source package branch separately; such as the ~ubuntu-desktop branches for example19:07
Logan_ok19:10
dobeyi don't know if the things you have branches proposed for are generally handled that way or not, though19:12
dobeythough it should be fairly obvious from branch history19:12
