chris4585ComputerChic, I'm currently using Manjaro Linux (based on arch), it is basically the linux mint of arch, and I'm playing with my desktop, but will probably go with compiz stand alone03:42

wrstbut as long as it works ;)18:49
chris4585indeed18:50
chris4585I had the worst time ever installing linux the other day...18:50
chris4585after installing windows I wanted manjaro to dual boot, but manjaro needed to be written to my usb and unetbootin doesn't do it correctly... and after wasted several hours I find a windows utility to do it, windisk32 or something18:52
wrstunetbootin is generally a pain for me18:58
Unit193LinuxLiveUSB creator for windows seems to be the best. :P18:58
wrstdd works nicely18:59
Unit193I either messed up with dd, made an ISO wrong, or am expecting something a tad different.18:59
chris4585I actually tried dd on my older computer and it didn't seem to be working or user error19:01
chris4585I've used it before and it worked though19:01
chris4585so knowing that I installed linux on my spare because I just put in a new/older hdd in it19:01
Unit193Check if the ISO supports it, fdisk -l xubuntu-12.10-desktop-i386.iso19:02
chris4585Disk manjaro-xfce-0.8.1-x86_64.iso: 1743 MB, 1743781888 bytes, 3405824 sectors19:04
chris4585Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes19:04
chris4585Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes19:04
chris4585I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes19:04
chris4585Disk identifier: 0x65139cbb19:04
chris4585I'm going to assume that is a yes?19:04
