=== zz_chihchun is now known as chihchun [03:26] So why no easy install method for the Nexus 7 [03:26] ? [03:30] SailorMoon? do you want a canonical employee to come to your house and do it for you or something? [03:30] it is pretty simple [03:30] no, its not that its hard [03:30] its that my network connection is so TERRIBLY awful [03:30] i cant sudo apt-get update [03:31] well nothing is going to help your network connection being horrible, except fixing it [03:31] i used a download manager to get my ubuntu iso [03:31] I wanna be able to do the same for this [03:32] will there ever be a more "real" install method? [03:32] one that would work on windows or on the tablet itself? [03:37] could make an iso that boots into a mini ubuntu that only contains whats needed to install for the tablet === chihchun is now known as zz_chihchun [04:57] <[mbm]> thought the nexus7 install was pretty simple, just a script to run fastboot === morphis|away is now known as morphis === KAM is now known as karim___ === Quintasan_ is now known as Quintasan === morphis is now known as morphis|away [13:34] o/ [13:52] Is there a dedicated Ubuntu on Nexus 7 IRC channel or am I right in here? [14:01] There is no dedicated one as far as I know. [14:02] So this would be the best avenue, I guess. === morphis|away is now known as morphis === morphis is now known as morphis|away === morphis|away is now known as morphis === morphis is now known as morphis|away [16:31] With ubuntu on nexus 7 [16:31] If I held back the 11 packages in the ppa [16:31] I could add updates and security right? [18:16] hi all [18:17] hello [18:27] hi all [18:27] any one here ? [18:41] Well, I'm here. :D [18:43] hi [18:43] I want to compile new driver module for my samsung phone [18:45] can u help me? [18:48] I guess I can't. I'm just a user in terms of ARM. [18:48] Sorry. [19:37] so I have a nexus 7 with a bunch of apps and about 6GB of music on it, can I back that lot up, try ubuntu on it and put all the stuff back again later? [21:55] AlanBell: yes. you can do it with a nandroid backup for the system. to backup the "sdcard", i would copy it onto your pc. [22:05] ok, cool [22:08] im not used to the nexus 7, because i dont have one. but nandroid is the standard android backup tool for the system partitions. im sure you will need a new recovery to do a nandroid backup.
