[00:03] <[1]DogOfWar> Bad news...still too big! [00:04] <[1]DogOfWar> I'm going to try the USB drive angle and see if it will offer to boot if one is installed... === glebihan_ is now known as glebihan [13:42] o/ [13:51] Mornin' duanedesign [13:53] hi [13:53] how is Sidewinder today? [13:54] Just fine, thank you; and you? [14:05] I am doing good [14:05] Sidewinder: forget my poor memory. You been hanging in the channel long? [14:08] A couple of years or so, I guess; I'm not exceedingly active, nor exceedingly knowledgeable, but I do like to give back to the community when I'm able.. :) [14:10] that is awesome [14:11] Sidewinder: that is what it is all about giving back when you can [14:11] Sidewinder: this channel needs plenty of helpers [14:12] Sidewinder, wow [14:13] even if you do not know the answer get used to using google and finding answrs on the ubuntuforums, AskUbuntu, linux queations, org, etc [14:14] oh and the wiki is a good resource. Also a great way to contribute (update articles, create new ones) [14:15] Sidewinder: sorry if i am filling you w/ knowledge you already know [14:16] Sidewinder: we would also love to have yo on our 'oficial' team Ubuntu Beginners Team [14:16] BRB, phone.. [14:16] kk [14:45] Back.. :) [14:50] And yes, duanedesign, I am aware and have used most of the resources that you've kindly listed, above. My main limitation is the fact that my main machine is somewhat of an "antique", {Dell Dimension 4550, circa anout 2003} and is currently maxed out in terms of RAM, video RAM, single processor, etc. I there fore an still running 10.04; am totally satisfied with it but also, realize that I've only got about 5 months to 12.04. [14:51] I am running 12.04 on my other machine, about a foot and a half, to my left. ;-) [14:52] :) [14:53] The upshot of all of that is that I'm much more of an "expert", {if I may be so bold as to use that moniker, heh,} with 10.04 and most folks are not using that version anymore so there few questions regarding it. I do assist when and where I can, though. ;-) [14:57] I am currently in the process of learning everything that I can regarding openVPN; I'm hoping to install it in the next few days and pray that it's not to difficult to configure and get up and running. I am aware that there is an #openvpn channel, but it doesn't seem to be too terribly active. Hopefully I won't need it. :) [14:59] I'm currently on a home network with the rest of my family; unfortunately, they're all windows folks although I have managed to get my youngest son {21} to at least try ubuntu.. [15:00] He likes it but still uses "7" as his primary OS; nor does he live at home, he's off at college.
