greg-gme three me three!!!03:37
rick_hmorning11:46
snap-lGood morning12:22
snap-lHave a very drugged kitten this morning12:22
snap-llast night she was best described as "stoned"12:22
snap-lEven the vet called her stoned12:22
snap-ls/vet/technician/12:22
rick_hyea, gotta love it when the pets get the good drugs12:43
rick_hwahoo android 4.212:55
brouschbastard13:02
brouschI still have nothing over 2.3.713:02
rick_hnexus 7 ftw13:02
brouschOh wait, my touchpad came in, so I have WebOS 313:03
brouschWebOS > *13:03
rick_hhah13:03
rick_hone day...holding out hope13:03
brouschAt least now I can play around with it13:04
brouschMy fear is I will like it more than Android and get sucked into its tiny ecosystem13:04
rick_hyea, HP did have some updates recently13:04
rick_hand I'd still rather use it for dev work, but no users/devices :(13:04
brouschold devices13:05
brouschHm, looks like openwebos has been ported to galaxy nexus13:07
brouschhttp://webos-ports.org/wiki/Galaxy_Nexus13:08
snap-lrick_h: You just want to Javascript all the things.13:09

jrwrenbrousch: run 4.x x86 in a VM if you want newer than 2.3.713:51
brouschjrwren: I am, but I don't count it13:54
jrwrenso you do have newer than 2.3.7 :)13:57
jrwreni maintain ubuntu is not for desktop. why doesn't nautilus have a run as... option to run something as root or another user?13:58
rick_hhuh?14:02
jrwrenmy use case is ubuntu in a VM, installing the vm tools. the vm tools CD gets mounted and a window pops up, that is great. the next step is running hte installer as root. You can't do this from natilus. It is a shame.14:04
brouschSo tempted to reply to https://twitter.com/chrismcdonough/status/268514999603953666 with "One user?! tThat's like 20% of all Pyramid users"14:09
jjessei got distracted by "i'm a toy that squirts rainbows"14:10
rick_hlol, me too14:10
rick_hin case you guys don't follow the python lists http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/1358061/14:31
rick_hkind of cool to see a db vendor getting Mike involved like that14:31
snap-lrick_h: Which list was that on?14:35
rick_hpython-list@python.org14:35
snap-lAh. I don't think I have a current sub to that list14:36
snap-lIt just showed up on announce14:37
jrwreni don't.14:38
jrwreni just read ideas.14:38
jrwrenwhat is volume like on that one?14:38
snap-lPython List is pretty heavy traffic14:39
snap-lI tried digests on that one, but it wasn't that effective14:39
* snap-l has a love / hate relationship with digests14:39
brouschPeople who respond to the digest version can die in a fire14:40
snap-lbrousch: You can use the mime digesting, but it's not that great in Thunderbird14:41
snap-lit works, but Mutt's digest support is miles ahead14:41
snap-lY'know what, QUora can eat my balls14:43
snap-l"You need to sign in in order to read the answers"14:43
snap-lbut I don't want to, so it actively goes through and blurs the text14:43
brouschThe new expert sex change14:44
snap-lThat doesn't make me want to participate, it makes me want to leave flaming bags of shit on their doorstop14:44
jjessequota used to be cool14:48
jjessenow i think it sucks14:48
snap-lI just blocked it from my search results14:48
snap-lWas looking for a decent epub reader for Linux, and one of their links popped up14:48
snap-lI don't have a problem with asking folks to sign in14:49
snap-lI have a HUGE problem with obfuscating so I have to sign in14:49
rick_hmonitize baby!14:50
snap-lAnd they can eat shit and dietize.14:50
snap-lSeriously low tolerance for that stuff14:53
brouschrick_h: That's great, coming from a Canonical employee15:00
rick_h:)15:00
rick_hbrousch: I like getting a pay check, how about you?15:00
brouschSure, I'll take your paycheck :P15:01
UnFixedUnforgiven: did you get your new house yet?15:08
ColonelPanic001no15:08
UnFixedcrap15:08
UnFixedhah15:08
ColonelPanic001I'm here too, no harm done15:08
ColonelPanic001you may choose from a multitude of channels15:08
UnFixedyes15:08
UnFixedi had a 3 in 10 chance of picking one you were in.15:08
rick_hwhat kills me is that means he's not using tab complete for nicks :/15:09
UnFixedi was15:09
UnFixedbut i switched between windows after tab-completing.15:09
rick_hah, gotcha15:09
rick_hok, we're cool then :P15:09
UnFixed:D15:09
UnFixedotherwise we'd probably have to dual15:10
UnFixedduel*15:10
_stink_or dual15:12
brouschsnap-l: Did you see this?15:48
brouschhttp://deathmetalbaboon.com/how-to-listen-to-death-metal-1-215:48
jrwrenwhy is code.launchpad.net so slow.15:48
jrwrenjust clicking around on it feels slow.15:48
jrwrendoes it set No Cache or something?15:48
jcastro_jrwren: rick's never heard of memcached15:49
rick_h:) it's a waste of good memory15:49
jrwrenlol.15:49
jrwrenno ETags, so that sucks.15:49
rick_hjrwren: depends on what you're hitting15:50
jrwrenzome.server.http, so that is a bummer.15:50
jrwrenerr.. zope15:50
rick_hyou hitting the actual loggerhead or just branch browser15:50
jrwrenhttps://code.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pmake  and click link to https://launchpad.net/pmake15:50
jrwrenand i confirmed, no 304s, just 200s. you really could set Last-Modified and/or etags for 1 min or so.15:51
rick_hyea, so we majority is the web page itself. In my network trace 1.3 of the 2.415:51
rick_hbut yea, we don't use etags because we get into timestamp races across front end machines15:52
rick_hand we stream the JS content so that you get it faster without us loading it all into memory15:52
rick_hbut it is fully squid cached so fast on our end, just network15:52
rick_hand then there's the fact that it's coming from england DC vs in the US which I can't do anything about :()15:53
jrwrenengland DC?!?!  that is probably teh latency i notice.15:53
jrwrenugh.15:53
snap-ljrwren: English packets laced with Guiness. ;)15:54
snap-land smelling faintly of fish and chips15:55
jrwrenits yet another reason to use github... support american made products. :p15:55
rick_hhah15:56
snap-lThose smell like BBQ sauce and want to change the radio to Country15:56
snap-land have to have jokes explained to them15:56
jrwrensnap-l: what is that wireles provider you use?16:10
jrwrenting16:11
snap-lYeah16:21
snap-lhttp://decafbad.net/2012/06/06/i-love-my-phone-company-or-why-ting-com-is-awesome/16:22
jrwreni'm really starting to hate pyrex16:32
rick_hjrwren: yea, what are you using it for?16:32
brouschThe cookware?16:37
jrwrenporting this to libevent2 https://code.google.com/p/pyevent/16:37
rick_hah, fun16:38
jrwrenit blows.16:38
rick_hheh, yea I try to stay away from that stuff and let other smarter people do that16:38
jrwrenor I don't understand what ctypedef is supposed to do.16:38
jrwrenits like you ahve to reduce your typedefs to something pyrex knows16:38
jrwreni drive right in. its fun.16:38
jrwreni think my gripe is largely with 32/64bit clean C. pyrex seems to completely ignore the problem16:40
rick_hhttp://trac.webkit.org/changeset/134092 lol17:13
snap-lpfft. :)17:13
Blazeixyeah, it needs to be Thingy1 so it doesn't clash with future Thingy implementations17:35
snap-lexactly17:38
