mlankhorstRAOF: bug bug llvm-3.1 bug :P10:34
mlankhorstalso created a dummy xserver-xorg-lts-precise package, which does nothing except depend on xserver-xorg and recommend everything from the unrenamed stack..10:52
bjsniderwhen nvidia decides the 310 blob is stable, is there going to be a situation where the last 304 becomes a "legacy" type thing and nvidia-current becomes the 310 and beyond?16:36
bjsniderotherwise geforce 5, 6, and 7 users will be left with the terrible, terrible, nouveau16:37
brycebjsnider, yeah I think they plan to keep 304 going with abi updates for a good while17:14
bjsniderbryce, so there should be an nvidia-304 package int he near future18:52
bjsniderjust like nvidia-173 and nvidia-96 and whatnot18:52
bjsniderotherwise we'll have to hold back the 310 blob18:53
bjsniderunfortunately there are a lot of people still using that old geforce 6k/7k junk18:53
Dandelbjsnider: i have a 7k geforce card :) 18:54
Dandeland even by that timeframe it was junk... 7300gs lol.18:55
bjsnideris it an agp card?18:55
Dandelpcie18:55
bjsniderotherwise you can easily replace it18:55
bjsnideroh, get a gf 520 or something18:55
Dandelit's gathering dust already.18:55
Dandeli have a gt54518:55
bjsnidergt 520 i mean18:55
bjsniderthere you go18:55
bjsniderthat's good stuff18:56
Dandeli have a good mix of video cards... I just don't have a lot of choices for cpu ( mainly amd, and only intel i have is older/slow )18:56
bjsniderwell, it probably has a fan, which i don't dig too much, but otherwise it's fine18:56
brycebjsnider, yes, we'll need an nvidia-304 at some point.  -173 is going to go away, and -96 is already no longer updated.19:02
Dandelricotz: quick update on the latest piglit stuff... there's a patch on the way to fix the egl builder19:05
=== yofel_ is now known as yofel
tavoe_can someone explain to me what ubuntu-x is? I think it may be relevent to my interests, but I can't find a good description19:33
Dandeltavoe_: ubuntu-x is mainly related to the core of the graphical interface normally used on ubuntu. without Xorg/X11 you will not have gnome/kde/xfce/etc.19:37
ricotzDandel, yeah this will do http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/piglit/2012-November/003910.html19:38
tavoe_ubuntu-x isn't actually xorg, though, right? Like, that's rolled into the os, its not something I would download later?19:39
tavoe_I probably sound like an idiot19:39
brycetavoe_, the ubuntu-x team is the group of people from the community (and canonical) who do packaging and bug work for the X.org packages included in Ubuntu.19:39
tavoe_Ah. Got it. That makes sense. 19:40
dupondjeany big changes in Optimus support yet since 12.10 ?20:18
mlankhorstnot yet20:42
dupondjenvidia-experimental-310 is broken? I'm unable to start Gnome/Unity after the install21:45
dupondjeextension: "GLX" missing for display :021:45
bjsniderdupondje, what else does the log say?21:48
dupondjeglXQueryExtensionString is NULL for screen °21:51
dupondje021:51
dupondjeI see cursor etc, but compiz not starting21:51
bjsnideranything like bug 105425721:57
bjsniderhttps://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/105425721:58
dupondjeyea seems so21:59
brycealthough that one's for fglrx22:09
bryceOTOH even that one appears to be actually due to compiz.22:11
dupondjexorg-edgers package solved it it seems :)22:13
Dandeldupondje: xorg edgers would probably solve it anyways... removes fglrx and places radeon driver instead for any card less than the radeon hd5000 cards.22:26
dupondjeDandel: i'm on nvidia :)22:27
Dandeli see... it was just an idea22:41
