jdstrand[TOPIC] Announcements18:03
=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-meeting to: Announcements
jdstrandthanks to jbicha for his work on cups-pk-helper to fix bug #1083416. Help testing the package would be much appreciated-- if interested, please comment in the bug that the package in proposed works for you (Ubuntu 11-10 - 12.10)18:05

jdstrand[TOPIC] Weekly stand-up report18:06
=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-meeting to: Weekly stand-up report
jdstrandI'll go first18:06
jdstrandI worked quite a bit on secure boot last week. namely identifying test cases, documenting how to perform them and how to perform key database updates18:06
jdstrandmy secureboot-db package is basically done, but I have a couple more things to test there. I will be finishing that and forwarding all my work to various teams (eg, qa, foundations) so they can benefit as well18:07
jdstrandin addition to that, I plan on working on MIR audits this week, then if I have time, picking up something from the list18:08
jdstrandoh, and I'm in the happy place18:08
jdstrandMarc is out today, but I know he is on triage and has a couple updates he is working on18:08
jdstrandsbeattie: you're next18:08
sbeattieI'm again working on apparmor and display manager stuff this week18:09
sbeattiestill working on prototyping18:09
sbeattieI also spent some of last week working a bit on tests, for upstream apparmor, apparmor in QRT, and the kernel in QRT18:09
sbeattieI may do a bit more this week18:10
sbeattieI also need to prep for the upstream apparmor monthly meeting this week.18:10
sbeattieI may use up a day of holiday later this week, I need to sort out using up the rest of the time I have available this year.18:11
jdstrandsbeattie: there was something last week about aptch review-- I didn't follow up on that-- how did that go?18:11
sbeattieeh, I didn't get as far on that as I wanted; I should also look at that again as well.18:11
sbeattieIn particular, I want to understand and review where jjohansen is going with his parser patch set18:12
sbeattieanyway, I think that's it for me. micahg?18:12
micahgwebkit and chromium still in progress, Firefox 17.0.1 just went out the door, I think that's it for now, tyhicks: tag18:13
tyhicksI'll be working on the apparmor dbus mediation items18:13
tyhicksI need to get a couple small updates in the dbus-dev ppa and then I'll look to jj for advice on what to tackle next18:14
tyhicksthat's it for me - jjohansen you're up18:14
jjohansenwell, I will push out apparmor 3 alpha 1 this week, and will continue on the labeling stacking patches18:15
jdstrandoh, is it apparmor 3 and not apparmor 2.8?18:16
jjohansenjdstrand: yeah it will be apparmor 3.0, 2.8 is currently what is in quantal/raring18:17
jdstrandoh, duh18:17
jdstrandare we planning a 2.8.1? /me wonders why he was thinking about 2.8...18:17
sbeattiewell, we hadn't decided on 2.9 vs 3.018:18
jjohansenof course its being deved as 2.8.99 or what ever because versioning issues between rpm and deb18:18
jdstrandok, sorry to de-rail18:18
jjohansensbeattie: err yeah we did, at the monthly meeting 2 months ago18:18
sbeattieheh18:19
jjohansenanyways we can always rehash in the apparmor meeting tomorrow :)18:20
jjohansenI think that is it from /me sarnold your up18:20
sbeattieno, no, let's not. :)18:20
jjohansen:)18:20
sarnoldI finally published perl last week, so this week I picked up libxml2 and tiff18:20
sarnoldwhen working on tiff, I found some initial hurdles, my rebuilds weren't stripped and appeared to lack any ofthe hardening18:21
sarnoldsbeattie suggested I should do a test build of that package on the ppa and see what comes out; that makes enough sense :) but perhaps osmeone else will spot this one without burning 10*N(arch) minutes on the builders first....18:21
jdstrandI'll help look at that18:22
sarnoldI'm also on community this week, I think it'd fun to do some d2u syncing or merging, I haven't done that yet.18:22
sarnoldI'm leaving to visit family in CA at the end of the week, friday will probably be a shorter day, I expect to make that up evenings this week18:22
sarnoldI think that's it for me, jdstrand ?18:23
jdstrand[TOPIC] Highlighted packages18:23
=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-meeting to: Highlighted packages
jdstrandThe Ubuntu Security team will highlight some community-supported packages that might be good candidates for updating and or triaging. If you would like to help Ubuntu and not sure where to start, this is a great way to do so.18:23
jdstrandSee https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/UpdateProcedures for details and if you have any questions, feel free to ask in #ubuntu-security. To find out other ways of helping out, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/GettingInvolved.18:23

jdstrand[TOPIC] Miscellaneous and Questions18:24
=== meetingology changed the topic of #ubuntu-meeting to: Miscellaneous and Questions
jdstrandThere are a lot of merge opportunities for packages listed in http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-security/d2u/. Performing these updates is a great way to help Ubuntu and bolster your developer application.18:24
jdstrandDoes anyone have any other questions or items to discuss?18:24
jdstrandsbeattie, micahg, tyhicks, jjohansen, sarnold: thanks!18:27

barryhi everyone and welcome to this week's ubuntu developer membership board meeting19:01
barry#link https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DeveloperMembershipBoard/Agenda19:02
barrycould be a short meeting today, as we have no applications to process19:02
tumbleweed\o/19:02
* barry does have a couple of items to discuss though19:03

micahgbarry: next time Gadget, next time19:04
barrymicahg: np :)19:05
barrymicahg to ask docs people if they want to apply for a packageset19:05
barrymicahg: same?19:05
micahgI thought I did that, but maybe I only thought about doing it19:05
micahgso, yeas19:06
barrycool, we'll carry it forward then :)19:06

barrydid everyone get a chance to see dholbach's message, re: @ubuntudev?  if so, any comments?19:07
tumbleweedsure, welcoming new users sounds great. On tho other hand, we've already got too much post-meeting paperwork19:08
micahgwell, all of them except for g+ has an API I think19:09
barryyeah, i don't think gwibber f.e. can do multiple accounts.  it would be easy if you could just post one message there and have it propagate19:10
barryi suppose unless one of us really has the urge, we could leave it to the chair, or just let others in the community take the lead19:11
barryi guess the silence pretty much says it all :)19:12
tumbleweedautomating the post-meeting papework would be pretty nice19:12
barryone last thing i'd like to discuss: we have two more meetings technically scheduled for 2012, but i propose we cancel the 31-dec meeting, and i will offer to chair again in 2 weeks.  that will be the last meeting of 2012.  any objections?19:13
tumbleweedcancelling the 31 dec meetnig seems pretty sensible19:13
micahgsounds fine19:13
stgrabersounds good19:13
barrytumbleweed: what kind of automation do you have in mind?19:14
barrycool, i'll update the next meeting page19:14
barryif we skip the 31st, that puts the first meeting of 2013 on 7-jan at 1900utc19:14
tumbleweedbarry: well, I'm not sure it's worth the effort, as there's not much to do19:15
tumbleweedbut it still feels like a lot, so it's easy to put off19:15
* barry nods19:15
tumbleweedwelcoming people on social media accuonts is something that would have to be done ASAP, not left for two weeks19:15
barryi guess we can be honest w/dholbach about our antisocial media-ness and see if he has suggestions for making it easy for us19:17
barrywell, anyway, that's all i have for today.  does anybody have anything else?19:17
tumbleweed"antisocial media-ness" :)19:17
barryalrighty then!19:19
