AnthonyUKHi, I have installed Mythbuntu and have just now pluged in my peak dvb twin tuner 221544AGPK. will unbuntu auto detect it and install the drivers or do I have to manually install them10:50
SteveGoodeyHave you checked for messages in dmesg?10:55
AnthonyUKIm new to linux how do I do that10:58
SteveGoodeyFrom a terminal window/console type dmesg. You should get a load of lines scroll up the screen. In that lot there should be messages about the tuner.11:01
AnthonyUKk I'll check now11:02
AnthonyUKdvb-usb: found a 'KWorld PlusTV Dual DVB-T PCI (DVB-T PC160-2T)'                      in cold state, will try to load a firmware11:05
AnthonyUKdvb-usb: did not find the firmware file. (dvb-usb-af9015.fw) Plea                     se see linux/Documentation/dvb/ for more details on firmware-problems.11:05
AnthonyUKI believe my tuner is also known as KWorld at least it is listed11:05
SteveGoodeyThat's good, did it succeed in loading the firmware?11:05
AnthonyUKnope11:06
AnthonyUKil reboot the system for a 2nd time and run dmesg again11:06

AnthonyUKjust have to check with you guys. I have looked up cold boot and it means you just cut the power, no proper shut down?11:14
AnthonyUKand also, do I just type the code seen in the code section letter for letter11:15
AnthonyUKand it works then?11:15
AnthonyUKok ive just figured out how to get wget to work, and put it in the right directory and am rebooting now11:33
AnthonyUKok i think that has got it working, i have ran dmesg again and a dozen lines have come up regarding the dvb tuner11:38
AnthonyUKI just ran this command "scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/uk-WinterHill" and have goten a list of channels that looks just like my freeview box12:03
AnthonyUKthere are a number of guides out there for setting up a vncserver but since mythbuntu uses the Xfce desktop they dont seem to work for me, can anyone help me get vnc server working. I have VNC Viewer on my Win7 PC12:36
