[18:40] Hola amigos. [18:46] YO [18:46] Garheade, what's shakin [18:50] Stuck in Factory Acceptance Testing today. [18:50] ouch [18:50] exactly [18:51] On the plus side, a years worth of failures are passing... a week before go-live but theyre passing. [18:51] NICE [18:51] That's a huge plus :) [18:51] Yes it is. [18:52] If I could just get this darn VPN working on my Toughbook, I could ditch this darn windows machine full time... [19:12] Hey, random question from an out-of-state lurker: anyone in u-co affiliated with Denhac? [19:12] I'm visiting CO in a few weeks and I'm planning to go to the open house on 01/08 [19:20] Cheri703, there are a few of us who are, but I don't think any of them idle here [19:20] I'd join the mailing list and send a message along. [19:20] ah, ok, thanks. :) I'm eyeing denver as a place to move in the future and happen to have a work trip there, so I'm staying a few extra days to explore :D [19:21] Where do you live now ? [19:21] Ohio [19:21] no brainer [19:21] move here. [19:21] it's....not terribly exciting here [19:21] hehe [19:21] :) [19:22] Oh, I want to, I'm curious how I'll do with the elevation mainly. Also I live in a SMALL town here, so my rent is like less than half what a place in denver proper would be [19:22] so that's a mental hurdle to cross [19:22] ah yeah [19:22] hoping the visit will convince me it's totally worth the extra housing costs [19:23] Salary and pay around here usually adjusts pretty well for the cost of living. [19:23] Whats sort of work do you do ? [19:28] sorry, had to grab my lunch [19:28] I work remotely, so my salary would stay the same wherever I live (barring raises of course) [19:28] I'm a customer support "engineer" for www.thehackeracademy.com [19:29] Ah [19:29] Interesting.... :D [19:29] I enjoy it :) [19:39] Cheri703, the other thing to keep in mind - living in Lakewood or Aurora can be about 1/2 as much as living in Denver proper... so just keep that in mind. :) [19:39] yeah, I've been doing a ton of research. One main goal is for a walkable/bikeable area. I'm car-free even in my semi-rural ohio town, so I wouldn't want to buy a car when moving somewhere more expensive [19:40] Move to boulder then :) [19:41] It's very bike friendly :) [19:41] though expensive... [19:41] I....am allergic to hipsters >_> [19:41] hehe [19:41] Denver = Hipsters [19:41] Boulder = Hippies [19:41] They're both contagious though... so watch out. [19:41] ah, well, at least denver is big enough to avoid them? [19:41] theoretically ;) [19:41] ha yea
