What should I do ? every translation page tells me that " No translation group has been assigned. This translation is not open for changes." [20:03] contact the project's or projects' maintainer(s) [20:03] not all projects accept translations. [20:03] s/translations/open-submission translations/ [20:04] not sure if there's any other restrictions or not, but i'm aware not all projects have open translations [20:04] thanks TheLordOfTime [20:05] if its Ubuntu or for an Ubuntu package, i think there's a group you can contact but i don't remember offhand,. [20:08] Ubuntu packages are translated by the translation team for that language [20:09] THAT'S what it was [20:09] usually named something like ubuntu-l10n-CC [20:09] i forgot that, thanks JanC :) [20:09] eh [20:09] not CC (country code) but a language code [20:12] Thanks. But it is not an Ubuntu package. it is Scilab. the translation policy is set to structured, with no team assigned for Persian language. despite these condition i cannot translate. [20:15] salmaan1, yeah you'll have to contact that project's maintainer/maintaner team. [20:15] I think "structured" means you can only translate as member of a team [20:15] or whomever the contact is for that project. [20:15] JanC, i think so too, i can check [20:16] here's the link: https://translations.launchpad.net/scilab/trunk/+pots/shell/fa/+translate [20:17] "If your project's translation group has assigned an individual or team to a particular language, only that person or members of that team can review/accept translation strings for that language. [20:17] " [20:17] there may be other information outside of the stuff i just said [20:17] but... :P [20:17] As I posted in my first message, launchpad says " No translation group has been assigned. " [20:18] I mean when I read the mentioned link, it tells me that "no translation group has been assigned" [20:19] I mean that, is the combination of this phrase "No translation group has been assigned." plus "This translation is not open for changes." possible? [20:20] hm, you seem to be a member of https://launchpad.net/~scilab-ir ? [20:20] yeah, I am the OWNER of that :) [20:21] the maintainer of the project needs to set that team or its parent team as the translation team [20:21] otherwise i think it won't work. [20:21] so you have t o contact the maintainer of the project. [20:22] TheLordOfTime: it seems like the other member of that team did some translations already? [20:22] But a friend of mine, who is also a member that group, can easily submit translations. [20:22] yeah [20:22] salmaan1 I mean [20:22] JanC, not sure then, perhaps permissions got fudged then [20:23] ... stupid php5, stop FTBFS! [20:23] * TheLordOfTime diverts attention [20:23] salmaan1: is he a member of the ubuntu persian translation team? [20:24] no, my friend is a member of no team, except which are created by me. [20:24] hm, no idea then ☺ [20:24] if only an LPAdmin were around :P [20:24] they'd be able to see if they broke something [20:25] If they broke something, wouldn't it be broken for all ? [20:25] potentially [20:25] but you never know :P [20:26] * TheLordOfTime needs to divert attention to the broken builder on his build system. [20:26] Is it appropriate to submit a bug about this matter? [20:30] after all, thank you guys. [20:32] maybe ask a question on https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad first? (if it really is a bug, they/you can convert it to one from there)
