linuxman410anyone here02:56
xTEMPLARxpoor linuxman410 :(14:04
xTEMPLARxnobody was here14:04
wrstxTEMPLARx: i was here, but i do go away for a minute or two on occassion14:13
xTEMPLARxyeah me too!14:13
xTEMPLARxa minute or two! that's it!  that's the ticket!14:13
wrstxTEMPLARx: how are you doing?14:13
xTEMPLARxsleepy14:14
xTEMPLARxtired14:14
xTEMPLARxcould use some more sleep and a maid14:14
wrstamen xTEMPLARx14:14
xTEMPLARxhow was your Christmas and New Year, Senor Stout?14:15
wrstvery good just hard to get back in the groove, and yours?14:16
xTEMPLARxpretty good.  spent half of it sick as a dog, but smiles were still had :D14:16
wrstha ha me too, stomach virus? flu? both?14:17
xTEMPLARxoh, flu14:18
xTEMPLARxit was funny14:18
xTEMPLARxI had the week of Christmas off for vacation, as well as the monday after (NYE).  Well, the MONDAY of the week before Christmas vacation, my boy was sick.  I went in tuesday, started feeling worse and worse, then started getting all the signs of a fever.  almost talked myself out of going to the doc on the way home, but I went anyway... they said I set the flu alarm off faster than anybody else they'd tested this season.  no work for a14:19
xTEMPLARxweek for me14:19
xTEMPLARxso I essentially got two weeks off thanks to that14:20
xTEMPLARxgranted, one of those weeks was no fun14:22
xTEMPLARxbut still14:22
wrstyes two weeks off is good, i had a week and half and the week of christmas i had a stomach virus14:23
wrstlasted badly for 3 days but didn't feel too good until last week14:23
xTEMPLARxno fun at all14:23
wrstwe are like old people talking about our ailments14:23
xTEMPLARxhey at least I'm not taking 7-9 different pills two times a day yet14:23
xTEMPLARxYET14:23
wrstha ha :)14:24
cyberangerxTEMPLARx: you should, it can be fun14:39
cyberangeresp when mixed with a 20-yr old scotch14:39
wrstcyberanger: you trying to turn xTEMPLARx into an addict? :)14:40
* wrst can't wait for his ubuntu phone, he will use it with his ubuntu tv... oh yeah...14:40
cyberangerwrst: no, well, yes, a linux addict14:40
wrstha14:40
cyberangerwrst: and then there will be unity in your home14:41
cyberangerpun intended14:41
wrstha well they will have to get a product actually, well, produced! first14:42
xTEMPLARxI actually think the ubuntu phone looks pretty darned sweet14:43
xTEMPLARxbut, it hinges upon performance14:44
wrstxTEMPLARx: i do too actually, but some issues, first distribution, probably internationally it has an ok chance14:44
wrstsecond its totally gesture based, i fear they made some basic errors in win8 aka the charms menu... well where is something telling me its there14:44
wrstits almost like a keyboard shortcut method to touch, and how many typical users use keyboard shortcuts14:45
xTEMPLARxI installed win8 on my windows partition of this machine... not impressed14:45
xTEMPLARxcompletely pointless to install it on anything other than a tablet-style system14:45
wrstyeah i tried the RC and preview stuff I was NOT impressed14:48
cyberanger810G downloaded, AWS is gonna love me this month14:49
cyberanger...and it's not done14:49
wrstouch cyberanger, do they charge based on data use with your plan?14:52
cyberangerI'd bet when we start talking 3TB, plans go out the window14:55
wrstha ha probably so!14:56
wrstthat probably violates some type of use clause  in the EULA14:56
cyberangerno, it's actually with their blessing14:56
cyberangerbut I think they charge per Xbyte14:57
cyberangeridk if it's kb, mb, gb or what14:57
cyberangerbut AWS rates aren't too bad (and this project will be funded in a few ways at the end, just gotta suffer the costs upfront)14:58
wrstthey aren't bad I have thought of running one for my server stuff as limited as it is wouldn't cost much at all14:58
cyberangerI found for that, for me, linode is cheaper15:00
wrsthmm that would be good also15:01
wrsti may try to do that this year15:01
cyberangerbut this much data, and the Import/Export service, it's really about the only option15:01
wrstcyberanger: and they have a connection that rocks so you can make fairly quick work of moving that much data15:10
cyberangerwell, fairly quick is still slower than I'd like15:14
wrstyes but probably quicker downloading it there than transferring over my home network15:15
cyberangerhad to say, there's a bottleneck between servers15:43
cyberangerbut it beats my own links15:43
wrsti'm trying to decide on what to do with my home network15:45
cyberangersimple, asterisk, turn it into a home phone network ;-)15:52
wrstha15:53
wrstcyberanger: i'm still considering just making one also, i have a spare box now that I could make it work16:00
wrstnot for sure if its got enough umph however16:01
wrsthello average_guy16:37
average_guyhi wrst, anything happening17:50
wrstlunch for me average_guy, how about with you?17:51
average_guyI sittin here tryin to figure out irssi17:51
average_guynever used it before17:52
