roastedhello?00:43
wxlroasted: yes, dear?00:44
roastedhello00:44
roastedfailing to understand the basic process to theming lxde00:44
wxlit's all about theming openbox00:44
wxlhere you go: http://box-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=740200:44
roastedright, but that's only part of the interface00:45
roastedI would need a gtk theme to match, no?00:45
wxlmost of those have the gtk theming taking care of00:45
roastedany themes that you'd recommend?00:46
wxlthe one you like :)00:46
roastedwell, yeah, but so far half the ones I pick come across with title bar changed but the actual lxde bar is untouched00:46
wxlyeah THAT is kind of a separate thing00:46
roastedso how would I go about changing that?00:48
wxlright click on it → panel settings → appearance00:48
roastedyeah, and system theme - no?00:49
wxldefine "system theme"00:49
roastedI want a dark theme. I downloaded a theme and my window title bars changed but I was still on the grayish default theme with the actual lxde bar00:50
wxlyou mean you want to change the bar.00:51
wxlif so, see above.00:51
roastedright00:51
roastedand there again, my question still stands.00:52
roastedas I understand it, the bar theme comes about with the openbox theme - or does it not?00:52
wxlnot necessarily00:52
roastedI tried to just change the "solid color" by the font is all out of whack.00:52
wxla "theme" on box look could consist of any number of components00:52
roastedeven if I change the bar dark, and the font color white, it only changes the text color on the active window00:52
roastedthe rest of the windows open the font is black while the background is black00:53
wxlther eis the openbox configuration manager, you know?00:53
wxllike there are several ways to change  looks through preferences in the menu00:53
roastedcustomize look and feel?00:54
wxlthe program is called lxappearance but it's listed in the menu as customize look and feel under preferences00:54
wxlthere's also desktop preferences, openbox configuration manager, etc.00:54
roastedhm00:55
roastedbeen here too. Guess I'll keep tinkering with it.00:55
wxli'd like to tell you it's all in one place, but it's not00:55
wxlif you keep playing with it, though, you'll get what you wnat00:55
roastedso is there a way to at least get white fonts with the black background?00:59
roastedbecause what I'm doing now... in lxappearance... not working00:59
wxlyou've tried to change background and foreground in the color tab01:02
wxl?01:02
roastedguess not01:06
roastedall text is currently white01:07
roastedannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd still black @ lxde bar01:07
wxlthat is dealt with separately01:07
wxllike i said you have to right click on the bar for its settings01:08
roastedright, panel settings?01:08
wxlyep01:09
wxlthere's no taskbar settings unfortunately but that would be nice01:09
roastedso therefore, I can't adjust the taskbar?01:10
roastedyeah none of these combinations at working01:15
roastedbest I can get is all black text, active window white text01:16
wxlwell yo ucan always hack the code :)01:16
roastedor install xfce </badjoke>01:16
roasted(had to)01:16
roasted:D01:16
roastedanyway, I'll toy with this later. Thanks for the insight.01:17

genoobieno06:47
genoobiethat's probably a better long term solution06:47
genoobieon account of the discontinuation of flash support in linux by adobe06:48

holsteinroniez_: "an elevated user" ?16:15
holsteinit might matter which user16:16
holsteini would expect it to work this way.. from the menu, the password prompt comes for that user.. if that user can sudo, all is good16:16
opensportsFYI ::: https://fosdem.org/2013/news/2013-01-31-streaming/16:17
holsteinopensports: what is that?16:18
holsteinopensports: fyi's are better suited for the offtopic channel, unless the information is directly relevant16:18

Unit193So the chrome with pepperflash idea didn't pan out?23:18
genoobiedidn't try it because I don't really have the skills :)23:19
genoobiesomeone suggested the savagefb driver was part of the problem23:19
Unit193Well, you could also try gnash or lightspark, not sure how well they work as I never use them.  Chrome is pretty easy to do, though.23:19
genoobieanyhow, sadly, because I don't have "skills" my solution to many problems I just reinstall linux23:20
