=== slank is now known as slank_away [00:38] Hi - is there any way to mirror a mercurial repository on lp.net? === issyl0 is now known as Guest7541 === tumbleweed_ is now known as tumbleweed === OutOfControl is now known as benonsoftware [09:57] thomi: http://blog.launchpad.net/notifications/mercurial-imports-will-end-on-october-5th === matsubara-afk is now known as matsubara [10:04] Hi, is there some specific permissions required to link a Debian bug to an existing ubuntu bug? === caribou_ is now known as caribou [10:08] I don't think so [10:10] czajkowski: ^^ [10:10] caribou: whats the bug you want to link to ? [10:11] czajkowski: the lp bug is https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/makedumpfile/+bug/1103389 [10:11] Launchpad bug 1103389 in makedumpfile (Ubuntu) "makedumpfile --dump-dmesg fails on 3.5 kernels and later" [Undecided,In progress] [10:11] czajkowski: the debian one is Bug#698755 [10:11] it's linked there [10:11] under remote bug watches [10:11] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=698755 [10:11] Debian bug 698755 in makedumpfile "makedumpfile --dump-dmesg fails on 3.5 kernels and later" [Important,Open] [10:13] caribou: ^^ [10:14] czajkowski: sorry for the dupe pings btw [10:14] caribou: no worries :) [10:14] playing catch up from being over at fosdem [10:15] so my inbox is a bit mental [10:15] czajkowski: ah ok I see it now. I was looking at the top bar (I vaguely remember seeing reports with the debian bug over there) [10:16] czajkowski: thanks! [10:19] np === Ursinha is now known as Ursinha-afk === Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha === Ursinha is now known as Ursinha-afk === Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha [11:14] hello all. I'm trying to understand what are the steps needed to go from a building project, to a ppa repository. I went through the ppa official doc, but it still assumes things I don't know about. is there a thorough step-by-step tutorial from c/make to getting apt-get to install your package? [11:18] erupter: none that I know of you could of course ask your questions for help on launchpad-users mailing list [11:19] erupter: You'll want to go through the Ubuntu Packaging Guide [11:19] perhaps http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/html/packaging-new-software.html would be helpful? === Ursinha is now known as Ursinha-afk === Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha [11:47] mgedmin, this seems at least a nice start :) [11:53] ok so my situation is this [11:53] there are a number of packages already available on launchpad for x86 and amd64. [11:54] what are the steps needed to make them available for armv7 too? === Ursinha is now known as Ursinha-afk [12:10] erupter: Seen the link in the channel topic? === Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha [12:11] maxb doing right now [12:11] erupter: PPAs don't support arm for the public, only for canonical and linaro teams/employees [12:12] I believe that's old information [12:12] isn't there a way I can setup my own somehow? [12:12] It is. https://dev.launchpad.net/CommunityARMBuilds [12:13] oh, will remember that (hopefully :)) [12:13] ok but I'm not in that situation. the packages are hosted on an external buildfarm and ppa, not on launchpad [12:14] geser: nope thats not true anymore [12:14] as maxb said look at the topic and follow the instructions [12:16] ok === yofel_ is now known as yofel === slank_away is now known as slank === matsubara is now known as matsubara-lunch === Quintasan_ is now known as Quintasan === matsubara-lunch is now known as matsubara === zequence_ is now known as zequence [16:59] get http://paste.ubuntu.com/1613366/ when trying to build with the following recipe http://paste.ubuntu.com/1613375/ [16:59] any ideas? [17:03] well, the packaging branch is apparently out of date [17:09] dobey: out of date of what? [17:09] dobey: literally know nothing about packaging, working on quantal [17:11] the version in that branch, is not the version that's in the quantal archive; thus it is out of date [17:11] perhaps a bug in UDD or something. you can file a bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/UDD aobut it [17:12] Is this the right place for issues with the Ubuntu launchpad instance, or should I be elsewhere for that? [17:12] also, i'm not sure what you're trying to do exactly, but a recipe build of that branch is probably not a good way to go about it [17:12] dobey: why? [17:12] mjg59: this is the right place [17:12] dobey: I want to build a patched version of goa and misc for quantal [17:12] leighman: because receipes aren't something that make packaging easier [17:13] bzr branch lp:ubuntu/precise/qemu-kvm throws an error [17:13] leighman: you probably want to do the work locally and upload to your ppa then [17:13] bzr: ERROR: Revision {serge.hallyn@ubuntu.com-20111213151338-b8nkqq6l4pyvb881} not present in (python stuff) [17:14] mjg59: that's not a launchpad issue specifically. sounds like an out of date branch issue for that branch. filing a bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/UDD would be the best place to report that i think [17:14] (and i am off to lunch for now) [17:15] Ok, I'll do that.
