=== OutOfControl is now known as benonsoftware [05:44] Printer isn't working. Trying to print document with Inkscape. The printer setup detects my printer, shows job is processing, but no printing. [05:45] i would remove inkscape from the equation [05:46] hpuser4466: open something simple like gedit or leafpad, or whatever text editor [05:46] just type "test" or paste something in [05:46] remove inkscape?!?! I love inkscape! I want to print a full colour instruction manual with images. [05:46] hpuser4466: ? [05:46] hpuser4466: from the equation [05:46] nooooo [05:47] hpuser4466: you have no reason to test printing and inscape [05:47] hpuser4466: you literally close inkscape for a minute, ok? [05:47] hpuser4466: dont "uninstall" it [05:47] ok. [05:47] hpuser4466: just test printing with something else.. such as gedit, or leafpad.. or whatever text editor you are used to [05:48] testing leafpad... [05:48] hpuser4466: has this printer ever printed? [05:48] hpuser4466: in linux... in this install of lubuntu... also, can it self print a test page? [05:48] yes i use the printer all the time..inkscape is trouble though.. [05:48] Leafpad prints. [05:49] hpuser4466: ok.. so its *not* the printer then [05:49] hpuser4466: in inkscape, what are you printing? [05:49] a default document with text and images linked [05:49] hpuser4466: can you export what you are doing to something else and print? export to pdf or something? [05:49] yes, i'll try pdf [05:49] hpuser4466: images linked? [05:50] inkscape has optiion to link or embed images. [05:51] maybe linking is the problem? Anyway I'll save the document as pdf and print that. brb [05:55] That worked! Printout is clear and sharp. Thanks [05:56] hpuser4466: ok.. so its something to do with that inkscape project [05:57] yes, i'm guessing the linked images cause problems. I'll try embedded next time. [05:57] could be the linking, though i would expect it to work if its an option.. you can decide how far you want to go with troublshooting and reporting... but you know its not an issue with the printer now [05:57] it's a HP PSC 1210 which works very well in linux. [05:57] also, "remove from the equation" is not "remove from the computer" [05:57] hehe. [06:01] Actually saving as .pdf is a good option because it creates a readable file of my instruction manual along with a printed copy. :- ) [06:02] cheers!... enjoy [06:02] It's an instruction manual for Android and Ubuntu, for a sales pc. === fragalot is now known as Guest90353 === ben1u is now known as u1neb [10:20] Unit193: ping. [20:29] Yes it seems to be the way [20:29] just installed pavucontrol [20:29] Can't start it [20:29] ah [20:29] I need to specifically install pulseaudio AND pavucointrol [20:29] I thought it was a dependency [20:30] It's not? Hrm... [20:32] nope [20:32] well [20:32] installed pulseaudio [20:32] and pavucontrol [20:32] bluetooth applet show that Im connected to bluetooth headset [20:32] but audio device does not show up in pavucontrol [20:37] vvo: i can route to my BT headset in pavucontrol [20:38] vvo: i would get the application playing audio via pulse, then look for routing that output from that application to the BT device [20:40] ok Managed to do it [20:40] https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio is generally where I go for pulse, but I don't have bluetooth audio. [20:40] you need http://askubuntu.com/questions/223136/pavucontrol-doesnt-show-bluetooth-headset [20:40] sudo apt-get install pulseaudio pavucontrol pulseaudio-module-bluetooth [20:41] and voila [20:41] i must have just had that from something elst vvo [20:42] Ah, good to know! === ubuntu is now known as Rikplay
