This is for idiots! You'd think that "enterprise" would get it, get matte monitors and workhorse workstations not all-in-one-impossible-to-fix machines [21:39] RAGGEEEE [21:45] That his terrible [21:45] s/his/is/ [21:46] MutantTurkey: what is the model number of that thing? [21:49] MutantTurkey: I did some quick research and found that some new monitors have sheets of glass over them held on by magnets to make them shiny. You can use suction cups to remove it and then sand the surface with high grit sandpaper [21:52] Well, at least we know he's not a MutantVampireTurkey! [22:07] My car is dying. :-( I need a place to take it so I can work on it. idk where I can do that around here. [22:08] whats wrong with it? [22:08] It needs a new starter [22:08] and a new water pump [22:08] just get a hand crank, like the olden days. [22:08] :-p [22:08] any repair shop ought to be able to handle that. [22:08] or a manual transmission ;) [22:09] http://www.cartalk.com/mechanics-search [22:10] My repair shop will handle my new starter for $830 [22:10] That sounds like a lot. [22:10] that seems like a lot [22:10] The water pump is more [22:10] what kind of car? [22:11] the water pump is more than $800? [22:11] 98 Acura TL [22:11] The water pump is over $1000 [22:11] That seems very high. [22:11] The components of my car are jam packed into the hood [22:11] It is a PITA to work on [22:12] I'm willing to make it a weekend project if I can find a place to put it. [22:12] maybe try an acura dealership? [22:12] I have no shortage of places to take it to to get it fixed waltman [22:12] I just can't afford it [22:12] ah [22:12] You need a garage. [22:13] Yea. :-( [22:13] seems you have to take the radiator out. [22:13] the parts are not expensive. [22:14] I hate cars. [22:14] Me too JonathanD [22:15] On the bright side... [22:15] Maybe I should just bring it home and stop driving it. lol [22:15] We fill up our tank every sunday afternoon. [22:15] This week it was $16. [22:15] I wonder how long I would last like that [22:17] we're looking at a car tonight. [22:18] I need to get a new car at some point, too. [22:18] the current one was losing coolant through the head gasket [22:18] was. [22:19] ours has broken down twice in the past year, but mostly it's doing ok ('99 olds alero) [22:20] ours was overheating. [22:21] I made the call around christmas to try this stuff that was supposed to fix the head gasket leak. I assumed it would kill the engine, because those things are generally crap, but I found an awful lot of positive info about it. [22:21] We figured if it worked, we'd keep putting money away beyond what we had [22:22] and if not we'd use what we had and get something. [22:22] I haven't put water in since [22:22] So I'm happy. [22:23] I could rent a vehicle storage space down the street for $188.50 for the first month. hmm
