[13:05] Morning peoples, dogs and turkeys [14:57] moooorning [18:29] back at work [18:30] Where do you work? [18:31] drexel [18:31] at a bio-informatics lab [18:31] Ah. On campus job. [18:31] yessir [18:32] so this respone startles me http://madhadron.com/a-farewell-to-bioinformatics [18:32] if anyone read that on reddit [18:34] I detect some bitterness. [18:42] yeah [18:43] but why would anyone be so bitter about something like that? [18:43] sometimes the complacent or happy people aren't the best ones to ask [18:49] Seems he might be railing against a low signal to noise in the raw data collected. And is upset that that they think they're so smart that if nothing is coaxable from data, then get more data, bigger database, bigger machines and try again. [18:51] So, MutantTurkey, have you been able to 'view' the raw data put in, yet ? Is it usless random noise or is there something useful buried in the data ? Or you're not smart enough to 'see' that well yet ? [19:08] I just started [19:08] but I think they might be on to something [19:08] the thing I am doing now is just throwing a dataset gainst a few algorthims and writing a paper on it [22:23] gah [22:23] I ordered a print server that won't work with our setup and now it useless [22:23] do I beg for mercy or what? [22:41] Why won't it work? [22:44] I didn't read the reviews [22:44] its software based I am almost sure [22:44] not a normal print server [22:45] uh.. then what is it?
