qwebirc88831I'm running .26-fixes on 12.04.  I have 6 front ends and a master backend.  On one frontend the recordings metadata does not refresh when selecting a recording.  It seems to work but slowly on the other frontends.01:31
qwebirc88831I am using the mythbuntu theme v 26.2101:32
qwebirc88831I am also using opengl as the theme painter01:32
qwebirc88831Any ideas of what I should check or look at to determine why the one frontend does show the metadata?01:32
qwebirc88831note:  if I watch a recording the meta data is there when I exit the recording01:33
qwebirc88831metadata shows fine in the blootube theme01:34
qwebirc88831thanks in advance for any ideas or pointers01:42
qwebirc66325I just got mythbuntu running on an i5. I started ripping my CDs. The first couple were fine. Now, when I try to rip the artist is always Blue Cheer. Any idea what is wrong?02:31
Shadow__Xqwebirc88831: are they over wireless by any chance?03:38

kmentatHey, I just set up the latest Mythbuntu from scratch, and I can't get the network interface to come up.04:03
kmentatIt's a Broadcom BCM4401.04:03
kmentatI've also got a Broadcom BCM4311 Wifi interface onboard, but I have no intention of using it. Ever.04:04
tgm4883kmentat, I wonder if it has to do with this  http://askubuntu.com/questions/14970/broadcom-bcm4401-b0-100base-tx-issues04:05
kmentatOh derp.04:05
kmentatLooking at this, I don't have a broadcom-sta-common.conf though.04:06
tgm4883hmm04:07
tgm4883kmentat, can you pastebin 'lsmod'04:07
kmentatThat'll be exciting, since this machine has no network connectivity.04:07
tgm4883heh04:07
tgm4883ok04:08
kmentatI do have a blacklist-bcm43.conf though04:08
tgm4883kmentat, so according to that page, we need module b44 to be loaded04:08
kmentatRight.04:08
kmentatBut here's the thing, I have ssb blacklisted, but it's still loading.04:08
tgm4883kmentat, so do an lsmod and see if it's loaded04:08
tgm4883kmentat, or try a modprobe on b4404:09
kmentatit's loaded, and when I try to modprobe b44 it just sits.04:09
kmentatIt's not a hard hang, I can ctrl+c out of it easily04:09
kmentatI can't rmmod ssb either.04:10
kmentatSystem says it's in use, but I can't see anything that depends on it.04:11
tgm4883kmentat, do you have a 'bfe' module loaded?04:12
kmentatnyet.04:13
kmentatwl is loaded.04:13
tgm4883hmm04:13
kmentatI just tried modprobe -rv ssb and it did the soft hang again.04:13
tgm4883grep dmesg for 'b44' and 'bfe'04:13
kmentatNo results for b44, b43, ssb, or bfe.04:14
tgm4883bfe provides the driver for that card it seems, try modprobing it04:15
tgm4883http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/man4/bfe.4freebsd.html04:15
kmentatI do have wl, though.04:15
kmentatNot found.04:15
kmentatThe crazy thing is the freaking mythbuntu installer spoke Broadcom-ese perfectly fine.04:15
tgm4883kmentat, yea that doesn't make much sense04:17
tgm4883kmentat, I'd ask over in #ubuntu as this is an underlying OS issue. You'll probably have to grab some debs to copy over since you don't have a network connection04:18
kmentatI'm guessing whoever configured the disc image thought ahead.04:18
kmentatGood thing I've got some flash drives lying around and a perfectly functional system, eh?04:18
tgm4883yea04:18
kmentatLearned that trick long ago.04:20

dekarlsuperm1: is there a reason for keeping deb/debian/control when it's generated on every run ob build-debs from control.in anyway? (When I first tried to fix packaging issues I wondered why my changes to control didn't work until I realized its overwritten on every invocation)20:24
dekarlmaybe it was debian/libmyth-$(ABI)-0.install instead, I'm not sure after seeing http://code.mythtv.org/cgit/packaging/commit/deb/debian?id=232ca207c520eb294db060a770aafd30ffa25afb20:26
superm1dekarl: you know maybe there really isn't20:47
superm1i think the main reason was so that you could literally cp -R debian onto a mythtv tree to upload to the ubuntu archive20:47
superm1but since I want  to eventually generate debian/changelog entires automagically too, that will go away too20:48
superm1so probably should just drop debian/control then20:48
