* hyperair wonders how possible it would be to patch libappindicator to restore left-click behaviour in the fallback statusicon06:31
hyperairapplications ported to appindicator, which is practically everything in ubuntu, kinda suck in gnome shell.06:31

didrockshey sil2100!09:20
didrockshow are you?09:20
sil2100didrocks: hello! I'm fine, building bits and pieces of the appmenu codebase for Qt5, trying to get everything working again09:22
sil2100But the sunny sun shine is making it a bit more troublesome09:22
sil2100How about you?09:22
tvossgood morning :)09:22
sil2100tvoss: morning!09:22
didrocksmorning tvoss!09:22
didrockssil2100: ahah, nice! I'm good thanks. Finishing prepping for UDS09:22
sil2100Ah, need to check the schedule, since I registered and maybe will attend some sessions09:23
sil2100btw. did you see build 104 of release testing? Nvidia at some point locked the screen and maaany tests failed ;)09:24
didrockssil2100: yeah, I saw it, so should it be just relaunched?09:26
didrocks(the tests)09:26
tvosssil2100, didrocks hey guys :)09:27
tvosssil2100, didrocks it's almost UDS!!09:27
didrockstvoss: it indeed is! :-)09:27
sil2100didrocks: that would certainly help - I'll anyway try to pinpoint the place where the screen got locked, also, anyway some preview tests are failing on nvidia most of the time and I need to check why09:28
didrockssil2100: ok09:28
sil2100didrocks: from the videos I saw that there's a timing issue with the lens results appearing09:28
sil2100Don't know why that didn't happen before, and why only on nvidia!09:29
sil2100tvoss: ah, you're right! Time to get changed into some proper clothing ;)09:29
didrockssil2100: relaunched09:29
didrockssill have time for clothes :)09:29
didrockswill need to exercise outside first :p09:29
tvosssil2100, yup :)09:29
yarinsehello, as I can extract the serial number of the volume of dvd from a terminal, what is the instruction?09:29
didrocksyarinse: I think this is more a question for #ubuntu09:30

jjardonHi,  about Mir, How do you plan to support GTK+ apps? Are you going to write a GTK+ backend for Mir?11:20
tvossjjardon, yup, we will work on toolkit integration11:21
tvossjjardon, better to ask that question in #ubuntu-mir :)11:22
jjardontvoss: rigth, too many channels ;)11:23
tvossjjardon, no worries :)11:24

nmittalhello ppl.. i just installed Ubuntu 12.10 and Nvidia drivers.. I have a 2 monitor setup.. however when I maximize a window it only fills one monitor.. how can i make it fill both monitors.. i am able to drag windows back and forth the 2 monitors so i know i have one x-screen13:23
nmittalis anyone around?13:25
sil2100nmittal: hi! Do you have a single panel, or on both monitors the panel shows the same indicators?13:27
nmittalsil2100, i had panels on both i hid on one them13:27
nmittalmy goal is to have the 2 monitors behave as if they were one..13:29
nmittali had linux mint before and it worked like that13:29
nmittali hope it can work in unity13:29
sil2100hm, right now you have a standard unity multi-monitor environment, which works a bit differently than you want13:32
sil2100nmittal: but from what I know, it's possible to switch to a mode that would interest you13:32
sil2100nmittal: but I guess you'll have more luck by asking at #ubuntu13:32
sil2100Someone there for sure should know how13:32
nmittalsil2100, noone responded there.. i posed there first13:33
nmittalsil2100, :(13:33
nmittalalso when i added 1 more monitor (another x-screen).. once i took my mouse to that screen it stayed there.. i couldnt move it to the 1st xscreen13:34
nmittalam i the only person having issues with unity and multiple screens?13:34

tedgtvoss, BTW, I'm not going to be able to make it to the platform API session, HUD 2 is at the same time.13:46
didrockstedg: btw, I removed you because of the 10 limitation on the other session, I'll be in the HUD 2 one as it's the part where you are involved :)13:47
tvosstedg, yup :) can you make it to the other session on that topic?13:47
tedgtvoss, The lifecycle one?13:47
tvosstedg, yup, that's the more important one from my perspective13:48
tedgdidrocks, Ah, okay.13:48
tedgtvoss, Heh, kinda.  The platform API is really messy and needs lots of clean up :-)13:48
tvosstedg, agreed :)13:49
tvosstedg, however, we can review the list of work items together after the session. Works for you?13:49
tedgtvoss, We had, at one point, talked about just calling it the Mir API.  Which makes more sense to me.  What happened to that?13:49
tedgtvoss, Yup, will do.13:49
tvosstedg, I'm not entirely sure that calling it the Mir API is appropriate but we can discuss that later on13:54
tedgtvoss, I guess I just feel like we don't need an abstraction, we better not be planning on changing everything again :-)13:55
tvosstedg, agreed to disagree with you :) but I agree with your point on changing everything13:56

jokerdino hey guys. i guess most of you are busy with the UDS but anyway, when is the unity-next supposed to land in Ubuntu?16:07
jokerdinoit is relevant for us because, well, we just finished a tweak tool for the nux-based unity.16:08
jokerdinoand it is in the process of landing in the archive. (it's in the NEW queue atm)16:08

jjedTrevinho: Is there a particular reason why a nux Property would be better for TooltipManager.SetHover? There's no other part of the class that needs a `changed` notification...?18:16
Trevinhojjed: well, it's just more handy...18:17
Trevinhojjed: also notifications can be muted if not needed...18:17
Trevinhojjed: but it's not really something needed... It just semplified things18:17
jjedTrevinho: Also, to be clear are you asking for `if (foo)\n{\n` conditionals? What about loops, methods, classes, namespaces, and other codeblocks? (thought Unity used Google C++ style...?)18:26
Trevinhojjed: yes, we use C++ style, but with some differencies18:27
Trevinhoso... all the braces are on new line18:27
jjedokay18:27
Trevinhoso if\n{\n ... for (...)\n{\ncode18:27
jjedTrevinho: Are braceless single-liners okay?18:33
Trevinhojjed: yes, single line can be (and sometimes it's preferred) to be braceless18:34
