[02:30] MobileTurkey: elaborate [02:36] I think you are trying to bridge a remote switch or computer to your wifi network with another router. I do that with my Internet connected TV and DVD player in the other room. [03:01] here we go: [03:02] I have my laptop connected to my wifi [03:02] and i have a desktop connected to the laptop via ethernet [03:02] I got it figured it [03:02] just had to add route sand assign a static IP [03:02] the problem now is the xbox 360.... [03:07] i only get 3 options with the 360... [03:07] ip address, gateway and subnet [03:20] MobileTurkey: Are you using your laptop as a router or a bridge? A bridge would be easier and allow you to pass DHCP traffic through to your PC and xbox. [03:21] as a router [03:21] i.e. Everything you plug into your laptop will get its address auto-assigned and be on the same subnet as the rest of your network. [03:21] you can't bridge properly witha wirelss router [03:22] Why not? I do it. [03:22] it won't work for me! [03:22] i get operation unsupported [03:22] It works for me. :D [03:22] using bridge-utils? [03:22] I use a linksys router [03:22] It has custom firmware but I'm pretty sure I could do it with the factory firmware too [03:25] MutantTurkey: idk what the proper tools are to set up the bridge in linux. Just saying, bridge would make your life a lot easier. [03:26] that's the difference buddy [03:26] I've got some po-dunk realtek crapolah [03:26] if I could bridge, I would bridge [03:26] i cannot bridge so I didn't [03:26] overall it hasn't been very hard to do it this way [04:07] MobileTurkey: You can do it with crap routers. Set them to same SSID, same channel, same encryption key. [04:08] And turn off DHCP on the remote router [09:20] Morning [11:37] MutantTurkey: i would use the router as the router [11:39] morning too [12:26] Morning peoples, dog, turkeys and everything else [14:22] morning [19:07] crickets [20:05] chirp chirp [20:06] Good afternoon, ChinnoCricket [20:11] chirp [21:30] bacon
