malaphusHi guys.  I'm attempting to create a lubuntu image for a group of 30 machines and would like to disable the LXDM userlist.  I've modified /etc/lxdm/default.conf and set disabled=1 in the [userlist] section but that doesn't seem to do anything01:33
malaphusAny ideas?01:33
malaphussorry, that's disable=0, not disableD01:34
Unit193LXDM isn't used by default anymore, LightDM is.01:34
malaphusAh ok, so need to figure out the lightdm config then, thanks01:35
malaphusso continueing to set up my lubuntu image, ive installed some applications that don't have menu items by default, how would one go about adding a new menu item for *all* users02:33
Unit193malaphus: Place in /usr/share/applications/02:43

malaphusUnit193: Don't suppose you know where I can edit the default panel launchers too?  I uninstalled google chromium and installed firefox, so I want to make new users begin with a firefox launcher, and a few others04:11
Unit193malaphus: Yes, Lubuntu does it weird, /usr/share/lxpanel/profile/Lubuntu/04:12
malaphushmm04:12
Unit193malaphus: You basically ghosting this onto a few or something?04:13
malaphuswell, nevermind, i guess the lightdm theme is different04:13
malaphusYeah, I manage the boxes at work, we currently have ubuntu on all of our NOC pcs, but it's horribly slow04:13
malaphus(the machines are horrible, heh)04:14
malaphuslubuntu runs great on them, so gonna be switching to this04:14
malaphushome directories are mounted from nfs, ldap for login/auth, etc04:15
malaphushmm, not seeing what I want in there though04:16
malaphusI'm refering to the File Manager, Chromium, and "hide all windows" icons you get by default in the panel04:16
malaphuswanna basically add launchers for firefox and lxterminal to that04:17
malaphusah nevermind, I see now04:18
malaphusfigured it'd just be more *.desktop links04:18
Unit193Ah, giong to use centrify?04:18
malaphuswhat controls which profile is loaded for new users (Lubuntu in this case), as opposed to the "default" profile or this "two_panels" profile?04:19
malaphusNah, we use openldap for our directory, and just tinker with nsswitch, pam, etc04:19
Unit193/etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart and /usr/bin/startlubuntu04:20
malaphusah ha, thanks again!04:21
Unit193Heh, sure.04:21
malaphusno idea how you know all this :P04:21
Unit193...Not really sure I know either.04:21
malaphushard part is going to be re-created a panel plugin I think04:22
malaphusyears ago I wrote a bonobo plugin for gnome panel that polled our pbx every 30 seconds and displayed call queue stats in the panel, gonna have to recreate that for lubuntu, should be fun04:23
fxnhey, I deleted ~/.profile and created ~/.bash_profile, how can I tell LXDE to load it? it seems to be ignored and LXTerminal does not launch a login shell10:53
fxnif I ln -s .bash_profile to .xsessionrc, then env variables are fine, but sourced stuff doesn't show up in LXTermnial10:59
LuchaHello there!11:47
Luchaei! I like some of the features of windows 8 in regard at windows behavior11:48
LuchaFor example: dragging a windows to the left or right side of the window makes it to resize to ocupy that half of the screen.11:48
LuchaCould it be possible to achieve something like that in Lubuntu?11:49
inductiveloadLucha: there's no "simple" way, openbox (the window manager) doesn't do that11:50
LuchaMm... I see...11:50
inductiveloadhowever, with wmctrl, you can probably hack something up11:50
inductiveloadfor example: wmctrl -r :ACTIVE: -e 0,1300,45,1630,94011:51
LuchaMm...11:51
Luchainteresting11:51
inductiveloadthis resiszes the active window11:51
LuchaI'll investigate that11:51
LuchaMm... maybe I could trigger that with a keybinding11:51
inductiveloadso you if you can get the screen size from xrandr or something, you can them bind a key to send to the left or right11:51
inductiveloadand you can even go nuts and make it go into quarters, horizontal halves or whatever you want11:52
LuchaReally interesting11:52
LuchaI'll check it now. Thanks!11:53
inductiveloadno problem, good luck!11:53
inductiveload:-)11:53
