[13:15] <stgraber> jodh: in some cases Xsession sets variables for its internal use. Upstart needs those and currently inherits them fine, but then there's no way of removing them from the environment of future child processes
[13:16] <stgraber> (you can't "initctl unset-env" an inherited variable)
