[00:30] quick question zequence do u know when Ardour 3 will be added to UbuStudio? [00:31] jnbek: 13.10 [00:31] is anyone else missing the screensaver settings in the manager? [00:31] in 13.04 [00:31] It was released a bit too late for us to include it with 13.04, which is now almost at beta2, which means no changes but critical bug fixes [00:32] jnbek: i just went to the ardour site, and downloaded it for 12.04 with no issues.. [00:32] xfce4-settings-manager* [00:32] dlumberg: Did you look through the menus? [00:33] holstein: ya, I know that, I can do that too. :-P I was just asking when that would have to not happen anymore :D [00:34] zequence: I just clicked all of them and didn't see screen saver anywhere [00:35] dlumberg: I have it [00:35] hrmmm... [00:35] dlumberg: In Settings Manager, from the "Settings" menu [00:35] This is on the live DVD [00:35] Beta 1 [00:35] I'm on beta2 [00:36] We don't have a beta 2 yet :) [00:36] I think it's building right now [00:36] how do I check my flavor of ubu? [00:37] flavor, or milestone? You can't check the milestone. It's really just a snapshot, called by a name [00:38] The flavor is more of a set of packages, that you install from the installation media. Really, all the flavors are Ubuntu [00:38] Just with different set of packages [00:39] yeah... I had an xubuntu at some point but I'm pretty sure I installed ubuntustudio === jta_afk is now known as JTa [00:39] so milestone I guess [00:40] README.diskdefines: #define DISKNAME Ubuntu-Studio 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Alpha amd64 [00:40] I don't know what would mess up the Settings Manager [00:40] Maybe you uninstalled something? [00:41] is there a way to tell form the live usb? [00:42] from* [00:42] dlumberg: You could ask about that on #ubuntu-release. I have never tried to find out [00:42] gotta go for a bit. Need to do some bug reporting [00:42] kk, thx [02:34] dlumberg, The screen saver on studio is set to "blank only" by default. However it is possible to change it to a screen saver or have it go through the available ones randomly. [02:36] The setup is in settings->Settings Manager->Screen saver. There is a button called "Mode" that is defaulted to "Blank Screen Only". [02:36] Clicking on that will give other options. [02:41] Be warned, there have been video drivers with memory leaks that the screen saver uses where most other audio SW does not. [02:42] I don't have a sceensaver option in setting mgr [02:42] When I tried to use a non-blank Screen saver, I found that over night I was into swap hell. [02:42] may be something i did when i ported to this build... [02:42] dlumberg, Really, Hmm, I am using ubuntustudio 13.04 it is here. [02:46] Do you by chance have xscreensaver-gnome installed? [02:49] hang on... I'll to a dpkg list === prompt32 is now known as xkvirus === xkvirus is now known as prompt32 [02:51] xscreensaver deinstall [02:51] xscreensaver-data install [02:51] xscreensaver-gl install [02:51] xserver-common install [02:52] and gnome-screensaver install [02:53] I think i get get what's happening... gnome screensaver is pooping on my happiness [02:53] So it says xscreensaver is installed [02:53] Ya the two are one or the other [02:54] the gnome version would put the setup into the gnome setup manager not the xfce one. [02:54] yep [02:54] (that may be about the only difference) [02:55] I did a get-selection set-selections when I migrated so that prolly did it [02:55] thx [02:55] No problem. "cute" is a matter of opinion, and i assure you, i have not searched for any "cute" themes for xfce [04:03] when a make something in hydrogen in lets say 120 bpm, when i use ardour after, it changes my bpm.
