dholbachgood morning07:10
Noskcajcan someone test the xubuntu raring beta 2 iso's, they release tomorrow and need testing07:30
smartboyhwNoskcaj, phillw balloons or whoever: Is that "double entry" bug in Testdrive fixed?10:12
smartboyhwSeems not:(10:20
shadeslayeranyone have an idea how to create an lxc container so that it's non persistent?10:28
shadeslayerI mean, any chances are lost once you shut it down10:28
shadeslayerstgraber: ^10:32
pittischroot does that quite nicely; I'm also interested in whether lxc can work on top of schroot, so that I can either just simply schroot into those, or "boot" them with lxc (provided that they have upstart etc. installed)10:41
pittistgraber: ^ can you please ping me on your answer, too?10:41
pittijibel: speaking of which, we recently discussed moving from kvm to lxc for adt-run, right?11:06
pittijibel: adt-virt-schroot at least works really well, I just tried "adt-run --built-tree=. --no-built-binaries --- adt-virt-schroot sid" in the pygobject source11:07
pittijibel: and /usr/bin/adt-virt-schroot seems moderately comprehensible, unlike adt-run itself :)11:08
jibelpitti, right, for platforms that do not support kvm. This is what we use for autopkgtest on armhf11:48
jibelpitti, the current implementation is temporary because I wanted something ready quickly without finding more bugs in autopkgtest. But the plan is to add an lxc driver to adt11:49
jibelshadeslayer, lxc-start-ephemeral starts an ephemeral copy of an existing container that is destroyed on shutdown11:54
shadeslayerah11:56
shadeslayerawesome11:56
shadeslayerthanks!11:56
jibelpitti, you can use schroot I think, I did something very similar to test ubuntu-core images. Basically the process was to unpack the tarball, create a configuration file, update network configuration and start the container.12:03
jibelpitti, http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-server-iso-testing-dev/+junk/ubuntu-core/view/head:/bin/core_test12:04
stgrabershadeslayer, pitti: lxc-start-ephemeral -o <orig container>12:18
stgraberoh, I see jibel replied already ;)12:18
shadeslayeryeah :)12:25
pittistgraber: I think that uses its own overlay system, or can it use schroot?12:31
pittijibel: ah, thanks for the link!12:31
pittistgraber: nevermind12:31

=== Ursinha-afk is now known as Ursinha

jbichahi, Ubuntu GNOME has one more testcase (I believe) that needs to be done http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/264/builds/41180/testcases/1303/results18:10
jbichaI ran into bug 1164633 when I tried doing the i386 version so please test for that too18:11
ubot5`bug 1164633 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "live image created by Startup Disk Creator fails to boot a second time" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/116463318:11
balloonsjbicha, hmm18:12
balloonsI wonder if the raring version of startup disk creator has the same issue or not18:12
SergioMenesesjbicha, balloons \o18:13
balloonsyou should file that against startup disk creator btw18:13
balloonspoor xnox...18:13
* SergioMeneses is updating to 13.0418:13

balloonshehe..18:15
balloonsI can't remember the last audio cd I made actually :-)18:16
SergioMenesesballoons, jajaja18:16
SergioMenesesthat's true!18:16
jbichaballoons: when I try with the raring usb-creator, I get a "Checksums do not match. Retry?" error; maybe this USB stick has issues?19:09
balloonswhen do you get that error?19:10
balloonswhen you md5?19:10
jbichait's at the 46% point19:10
jbichaI'm thinking maybe this free usb stick that Intel gave me isn't very useful but it's the only one I have today19:14
phillwjibel: IIRC, usb-creator in raring is broken.19:17
balloonsLetozaf_, hello..19:19
Letozaf_balloons, hello!19:19
balloonsso ogra tells me indeed pandaboard is broken for x :-)19:19

Letozaf_balloons, well this means we won't nead testing on Panda boards anymore ?19:20

Letozaf_balloons, ok, doesn't matter we have lots of other tests to carry out :D19:20
Letozaf_balloons, as soon as you will need these tests again, let me know19:21

SergioMeneses-add19:42
balloonsI believe it!19:43
balloonsThis looks good19:43
balloonsI don't have time to run through it right now19:43
balloonsbut reading it over it looks very nice19:43
SergioMenesesballoons, dont worry19:44
Letozaf_SergioMeneses, balloons if you guys want I can do it, not sure I will finish tonight though :D it's quite long :D19:45
balloonsI usually try and go through the testcase quickly before merging.. but not always, especially if i know we're planning to use it for a cadence week or something.. I'l merge and just go through it as part of the week :-)19:46
balloonsI trust Sergio has verified the case ofc :-p19:46
Letozaf_balloons, ok :D19:46
SergioMenesesballoons, sure!... but I always ask for a second view19:47
balloonsindeed ofc19:48
SergioMenesessometimes my editors change some words or something jejeje19:48
balloonsyea.. I almost always do some minor tweaks to wording :-)19:48

balloonsit's helpfu;l20:01
SergioMenesesballoons, but it only works with VIM?20:01
SergioMenesesright20:01
Letozaf_SergioMeneses, balloons ok I will give it a run though, maybe I will start tonight and finish tomorrow ok ?20:02
SergioMenesesLetozaf_, perfect20:03
SergioMeneses;)20:03
balloonsSergioMeneses, no you can run it as a bash file20:03
balloonsyou need to install tidy20:03
balloonsit will tell you20:03
SergioMenesesnice then20:04
balloonsyou might need to install vim too.. but, you simply run it and pass the file as an argument20:04
balloonsyou don't have to see or do anything with vim :-)20:04
balloonsI edit everything in geany20:04
SergioMenesesjajaja20:04
balloonsI don't type well enough to use vim.. hahaha20:04
SergioMenesesgeany rocks! I used in university20:04
SergioMeneseso020:05
balloonsyes definitely20:05
balloonsgeany <320:05
Letozaf_balloons, SergioMeneses vim isn't that bad :D20:05
SergioMenesesLetozaf_, I think I have to learn to use it xD20:06
SergioMenesessome day20:06
balloonsLetozaf_, you use vim?20:06
balloonsI always thought you loved emacs...20:06
* balloons balloons floats away20:06
Letozaf_balloons, yes, but I'm not an expert, just basic use to edit files on servers20:06
balloonsahh.. yes, command line I do use it20:07
balloonssometimes I'm bad tho and use nano and sed rather than just using vim20:07
Letozaf_balloons, I know nothing about emacs, only vim for me :D20:07
SergioMenesesbut nano does the same jejeje20:08
Letozaf_balloons, no I use only vim I prefer it20:08
balloonsyes I was making the classic emacs vs vim joke..20:08
Letozaf_balloons, yes go it lol20:08
balloonsanyways, Letozaf_ I messed with using qml and autopilot20:08
Letozaf_balloons, wow guess you had fun :D20:09
balloonsyes, it wasn't bad.. you can't introspect the applications20:09
balloonsbut since it's qml all the objects are defined.. you just look at the qml file20:10
balloonsso in some ways it's easier.. anyways, it does work as thomi mentioned20:10
SergioMenesesballoons, Letozaf_ are you working on testing ubuntu-touch?20:12
Letozaf_balloons, sounds fun even if I understand you had to do it in a different was as thomi told you to20:12
Letozaf_sorry not was but way20:12

balloonsSergioMeneses, not exactly.. I had just asked if it was supported..at the moment, the focus is on manual testing and finishing up putting out raring ;-)20:14
Letozaf_balloons, :( no autopilot fun :'(20:16
balloonsbut yes it's something we might want to help with.. the core apps authors seem to be adopting it themselves20:16
balloonsLetozaf_, there's always time for fun!20:16
Letozaf_balloons, yes I'm just joking :D20:16
balloons:-p20:16
SergioMenesesballoons, ok ok20:19

Noskcajcan someone run the netboot, ppc and xubuntu beta 2 images, they need to be run21:14
phillwSergioMeneses once the brassero test case is posted up, I'll ask the L-QA people to have a look at it. Don't worry, perfectionists they may appear at times, but friendly people they also are :)21:44
