Unit193Wow, we're pulling in a bit of gnome and a touch of unity so it would seem.06:04
smartboyhwHi Xubuntu devs:)10:37
smartboyhwA Ubuntu Studio user reported a Bug 116912210:37
ubottubug 1169122 in Ubuntu Studio "Opening Software Sources shows notification of the volume. Ubuntu Studio 13.04 64 bit" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/116912210:37
smartboyhwHowever zequence and I thought that it cannot be a Ubuntu Studio bug on it's own.10:38
smartboyhw<zequence> Not really a Ubuntu Studio bug. I think the behaviour of the volume pop up could be improved, but I don't know where this should be done10:38
smartboyhw<zequence> Maybe XFCE?10:38
smartboyhwSo can any people direct the bug to it's right place?:) Big thanks!10:38
knomeplease get it confirmed first11:10
smartboyhwzequence, ^11:10
knomeand post instructions how to reproduce11:10
* smartboyhw can't actually reproduce this bug hmm...11:11
zequenceI don't think that specific case is the whole scope of the problem. The volume notification will show in cases when you don't really require it to11:12
knomei read the comment, that's why i think it is stupid to forward it to developers at this point11:12
knomewell, then it's probably not an xfce problem either, becuase why would xfce notice of volumes randomly?11:13
smartboyhwzequence, try to reproduce the bug please.11:13
knomezequence, have you experiences unexpected notifications too?11:13
zequencesmartboyhw: I'm not going to, but I will fire up a virtual install now just to see if I can find another case11:14
smartboyhwzequence, OK.11:14
smartboyhwzequence, I can't reproduce it (and never see strange volume notifications) 11:14
smartboyhwI would rather mark the bug as invalid.11:14
zequenceI think the volume notification should only show, if you adjust the volume with a non-gui controller11:15
smartboyhwzequence, and why would one not?11:15
zequenceAs is now, it at least pops up when you adjust using the volume applet11:15
smartboyhwzequence, yep.11:15
knomezequence, that bug should be reported against the volume applet then11:16
zequenceknome: I'm not so interested in that particular bug myself. Just looking quickly if I can find some other usecase11:17
zequenceAnyone know what package or source is responsible for forwarding the volume notifications?11:18
knomeme neither, i think it's a really low priority one. if the bug with software sources was reproducible, it might be even medium, but still far away from the top of the list11:18
smartboyhwzequence, not me.11:20
zequenceI'm checking out xfce4-notifyd11:21
smartboyhwknome, zequence should I mark it as "Invalid" or "Opinion" or what?11:21
zequencesmartboyhw: Just leave it be11:21
smartboyhwzequence, OK11:22
zequencesmartboyhw: Until someone can either confirm it, or prove it is not a bug, it's hard to do anything11:22
smartboyhwzequence, OK.11:22
zequencexfce4-volumed seems more correct11:28
smartboyhwzequence, OK11:29
zequencefiles src/xvd_notify.*11:29
zequenceI'm guessing that's where you'd do the hacking if you want to change the behaviour for the volume notifications11:31
ochosizequence: just a pointer: xfce4-notifyd is a daemon, so it only listens to signals. when programmes decide to send a notification through the daemon is up to them, so imho it should be fixed in the respective package, not the daemon (simply surpressing certain signals might lead to unwanted behavior in other places)12:02
zequenceochosi: Yeah, I think I found the source in xfce4-volumed12:16
zequenceBut I doubt I will start poking in it, all though it probably would be good for c noobs like me12:18
lderanzequence, looking at code is always a good thing to do when you're starting out in that language.12:58
skellatknome: I imagine I am going to have some folks displeased with me for this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/116923817:47
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1169238 in Unity "[UIFe] BFB icon swirl should run clockwise not anti-clockwise" [Undecided,Triaged]17:47
bluesabremicahg, mr_pouit, are either of you around?  :)22:02
bluesabreknome, as a bugfix release, do I need to file a FFe for catfish 0.6.1 to be updated to 0.6.3?22:06
Unit193bluesabre: As for Bug 1098323, that wasn't the initial problem, at least for me.22:08
ubottubug 1098323 in parole (Ubuntu) "Parole failes to play DVD" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/109832322:08
bluesabreyeah, I think his problem is slightly unrelated22:09
Unit193Don't know, it seems he can use VLC so shouldn't be libdvdcss, and same error message I had.  My dvd drive is /dev/dvd2, and it'd refuse to open it even if you directed it. :P22:11
bluesabreI need to fix that at some point22:13
bluesabre:D22:13
bluesabreworking on a new category chooser in menulibre... thoughts?  http://imagebin.org/25417722:23
Unit193I'm not sure which one is new, but the one on the left is nice, just may not have all needed options..  Right is nice if for some reason you need to add one, such as X-Xfce.22:26
bluesabreThe one on the right is new.  I'm trying to accomodate for the multitude of possible sub-categories22:27
bluesabreThe + button will show a dropdown menu with all the known categories, and custom categories will be remembered in the menulibre settings22:29
Unit193Yeah, which makes sense.  I like how you can see more with the first, but you don't have all the needed options so something else is needed.22:29
bluesabreI'll probably add a second column that shows a nicer name, Utility -> Accessories, etc22:30
skellatAs seen over at #ubuntu-release: (06:56:04 PM) queuebot: (notice) Unapproved: shimmer-themes (raring-proposed/universe) [1.5.4-0ubuntu1 => 1.5.4-0ubuntu2] (ubuntustudio, xubuntu)22:59
Unit193Might want to wait for it to get accepted or rejected.23:51
skellatUnit193: (07:05:22 PM) queuebot: (notice) Unapproved: accepted shimmer-themes [source] (raring-proposed) [1.5.4-0ubuntu2]23:51
Unit193That one.23:52
