=== JTa_aFK is now known as JTa [07:45] Whoa so many small bugs:O [07:47] zequence: I am proposing to mark the installation testcases ready. [07:50] The testcases has passed (albeit a lot of small bugs inherited from other software) [09:03] Seems like we've had a lot of help testing Ubuntu Studio for this final release [09:03] So many bugs reported too [09:04] A couple of them are the same on Xubuntu [09:21] zequence: Should I mark these as ready? [09:22] THere is one bug I can't even take a loot at because of a bug in the iso tracker view [09:22] smartboyhw: I'm checking the bugs first. I can mark them ready once I'm done [09:24] Ah, no. There are two bugs about phatch. They won't open. Looks like a python bug [09:25] Marked ready then [09:26] morning [09:26] Hey DarkEra:) And thanks zequence [09:27] hi smartboyhw :) [09:27] and zequence ;) [09:28] looks like we got a go [09:29] DarkEra: Upgrades ? [09:29] hmm? [09:29] DarkEra: It seems that you didn't report upgrade results:P [09:30] did anyone else do a upgrade with a 64bit? [09:30] I don't think we do care much for upgrades though. [09:30] for 13.04 [09:30] DarkEra: Dunno I guess not. [09:32] at some point there was a message my system would be broken, it went by too fast to write it down and scrolling on this netbook with the touchpad is a pain. [09:32] Uh [09:34] i thought here we go, but when finished i rebooted and all looks fine to me though. One thing it didn't delete and that's the gnome system monitor, the rest looks the same as 13.04 [09:34] DarkEra: Oh OK [09:49] brb [09:52] DarkEra, zequence: This release sounds early in time compared to 12.10 or (especially) 13.04 Beta 2 [09:53] LOL [09:56] :D [09:58] DarkEra: For Beta 2 it got released in Friday afternoon, thanks to Canonical IS working times;P [10:00] were there some problems with the Beta 2? [10:00] guess so if it was released a day later [10:09] DarkEra: The testcases are finished at a very late time that the Canonical Internet Services have gone asleep:X-( [10:11] aha, i see [10:12] it's the same with every single release... people start asking when it can be downloaded.... lol [10:14] DarkEra: Yep [10:15] I remember 12.10 release day's #ubuntu-release-party [10:15] People get banned for sharing the download links pre-announced [10:16] i remember something about that to from a few years ago in #ubuntu [10:17] was another release, 9.04 or 9.10 and peeps got banned [10:20] oh [10:21] some people are going to shoot me now i'm back again on Ubuntu... lol [10:23] DarkEra: Who? The Fuduntu people?! [10:25] no, some from other projects but i don't care at all. Everyone is free to join in where they want and use what they like in the linux world imho [10:26] lol [10:28] true or not? :) [10:29] anyhoo, the circle is complete, i'm back home again [10:30] :) [10:33] smartboyhw: You mean, it seems the final release will actually be released on time? [10:33] zequence: Or rather, at a good time (like 14:00 UTC) [10:34] smartboyhw: Has it been set to that? [10:34] Last time it got out in 18;30 I thinj [10:34] 18:00 is quite a common time, yes [10:34] zequence: Pure guess. I said I think [10:34] Usually it's 18:00 [10:34] zequence: Hope it's earlier;P [11:09] someone posted a link in the OMG Ubuntu community, i requested to remove it [11:09] on google+ that is [11:12] DarkEra: Good job! [11:13] gonna drop that into the release party channel too :P [11:14] DarkEra: :X-( [11:15] Damn it is a :P [11:16] zequence: I guess I got it correct that it will release eaely [11:16] *early [11:16] smartboyhw: Anyone can win on the lottery [11:20] zequence: lol [11:20] zequence: Damn it I told holstein to appear around 1400UTC to do the topic change in #ubuntustudio … It's OK to delay changing that but:P === ubott2 is now known as ubottu [11:22] smartboyhw: The topics for the IRC channels are not that important. Doesn't matter if they are not changed right away [11:22] In fact, there is no law that says we need to announce releases right away either [11:22] We can wait until the next day if we want [11:22] There's no hurry [11:22] yep [11:23] * smartboyhw didn't expect it to release that early either till today 05:45 UTC [11:24] That's very efficient of the Ubuntu Release Team [12:04] you guys think i should keep 64bit running on this machine? Someone told me once to use the 64bit versions of distro's just because it's a 64bit processor [12:09] congrats on the new release guys, you did a great job [12:15] zequence: start doing the things [12:15] :P [12:16] smartboyhw, he took off on a holiday, we're on our own xD [12:17] DarkEra: He is doing all the announcements, and he did said he'll wait till 13.04 is released (like now) [12:17] i know :) [12:21] For the first time ever, we have no time for the new dev release after one release is released. [12:21] s/time/name/ [12:21] smartboyhw meant: "For the first name ever, we have no time for the new dev release after one release is released." [12:23] BAH [12:23] Second one:P [13:00] Sent to Linux Audio Announcements and our User mail list [13:01] We could post on other non audio announce pages too, I guess [13:01] mail lists, I mean [13:01] And, forums, etc [13:03] i'll write a post for my blog to help spreading 'the word' [13:06] zequence: \o/ I will also write a blog post [13:06] cool :) [13:08] what the... wow [13:10] i feel honoured that i'm mentioned in the post on the site. Thank you zequence [13:10] I didn't forget anyone, did I? :) [13:11] We have more people involved, and actually, I should add that we get help from non Ubuntu Studio devs too [13:11] * DarkEra turns up the volume: Gangnam Style! but can't dance the dance or his back will snap [13:11] zequence: :) [13:11] DarkEra: LOL [13:11] But, that was the list that came into mind when thinking purely of active Ubuntu Studio developers [13:12] zequence, i'll mention that we are searching for people to join us if they are interested in my blog post [13:13] DarkEra: That would be good. You can link them to the Contribute page on our website if you like [13:13] sure thing zequence i'll do so [13:18] * smartboyhw will absolutely do that also [13:19] i hope that by the time the beta's of 13.10 come out, i will have a desktop pc. If so then i can use the laptop as testing machine [13:20] bbl by the way, going for a walk first :) [13:20] DarkEra: Erm what's your real name? [13:24] I'm heading out for a bicycle ride. Will be gone for 2-3 hours or so [13:24] zequence, have fun and enjoy the ride :) [13:25] smartboyhw_, my real name as is on Google+ :P [13:25] Maik Adamietz [13:26] Ah I forgotten sorty [13:26] DarkEra: Thanks [13:29] zequence: Let's celebrate (LOL) [13:29] But first of all, can you remove those release-related items in the channel topic here? [13:30] smartboyhw_: I've never done that before, so I don't know how. I'll have a look at that when I come back [13:32] … OK [13:36] The bug about mudita... I am wondering if the person has an ice1712 card even. [13:37] mudita works fine for me. [13:37] len-1304: I commented about that. You have to have the card for it to start [13:37] So, probably he didn't [13:38] I wish people would run things from a terminal... mudita tells you it can't find a card if its not there [13:39] zequence: Do you want to do an Open Week session for Ubuntu Studio? [13:43] smartboyhw_: I haven't planned anything, but we should try to involve users in different ways [13:44] zequence: Just to tell you: Date: 22-23 May Time: 13:00-18:00 Wiki: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOpenWeek [13:56] smartboyhw_, no worries ;) [13:57] catch you guys later, going for a walk [14:39] Saucy Salamander: The official codename of S as announced by sabdfl [15:09] holstein: ping [15:43] Saucy Salamander? [15:53] bbl, food time [17:16] 13.04 released ! Congrats to all : ) [17:24] same to you :) [17:48] darkera : :) Thanks [17:49] you have done a great job on the designs, keep up the great work ;) [17:52] darkera : Thanks, glad to see the social network banners on line. [17:53] madeinkobaia, you're welcome and i mean what i say. And yeah, i noticed them straight away and am glad they are online too [18:07] darkera : : ) [18:08] See u all : ) bbl or bbt [18:20] Ok, so next release will be saucy [18:27] Let's make it a tasty salamander [18:30] hell yeah, i'm all in for that :) [18:33] proposal to change the menu a bit. I noticed that for example Gimp shows up twice, once in Graphics and once under Photography. From my point of view it would be ok to let it show up under Graphics only [18:33] just a thought [18:46] DarkEra: Personally, I agree with you on that. But, the design of the menu was not only for keeping applications separate and easy to find. Each workflow may have use of a set of applications [18:46] And the workflows aren't standard categories. They are more intended as workflows [18:47] So, if you are a photographer, you should be able to find anything you need for photography in the photography section in the menu [18:48] zequence, aha, i see
