[13:41] <apachelogger> cjwatson: I'll argue that there are at least two proper problems then ... a) when /etc/default/grub.d/* is present grub-pc will create a bogus /etc/default/grub (e.g. missing quiet splash) b) grub-installer currently does not update-grub after fiddeling with default/grub
[13:42] <apachelogger> former you can reproduce by purging grub-pc then placing something in grub.d (for instance install kubuntu-settings-desktop), then install grub-pc and check the bogus default/grub
