[11:07] ifain: no - have you tried using a clean firefox profile ? [11:10] no. the interesting thing is that both Thunderbird and Firfox are stuck at the same moment [11:11] lfain, that's a well known issue. [11:11] lfain, it is likely not related to your specific upgrade. [11:11] lfain, there is a library which is used by both applications. [11:12] lfain, if that library is stuck, both applications are stuck. [11:12] lfain, Google should know the answer and if not you can always report a bug, but I am sure it has been reported before. [11:14] I didn't find such issue reported in Google. Some people complained that Thunderbird is frozen and CPU consumtion is high. In my case the CPU consumption is 0% [11:16] lfain, when you run 13.04 you are expected to know what you are doing. [11:16] lfain, so, clearly someone messed up that library. [11:16] lfain, but for a fix you would have to either wait or become an expert at debugging. [11:17] lfain, just run 12.04 if you want to be able to do some work. === BTCOxygen|1 is now known as BTCOxygen [11:23] .. If I want to make a clean install of my system (say, to upgrade from 12.04 to 13.04), what's the best way to backup my applications so that I don't have to download them all again and so that I don't forget important little apps? [15:21] zacarias1: Basically: sudo dpkg --get-selections > selections will make a file "selections" with current list of installed things. then on fresh box, sudo dpkg --set-selections < selections && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -u dselect-upgrade will reinstall all the same ones. You probably also want to save what's in the /etc directory someplace also since it contains all the specific settings for the apps. You'll still have to [15:21] download them from the repositories again because the versions from 12.04 to 13.04 are different anyhow. === alexis is now known as Guest913 [15:51] genii-around: Thanks === paolo_ is now known as faLUCE === goodtime-lappy is now known as goodtime === paolo_ is now known as faLUCE === chalced is now known as chalcedony === bla_ is now known as joojojo === spawn57` is now known as spawn[dead] === goodtime-lappy is now known as goodtime [18:04] Good evening. === kesha is now known as kesha_ === oohmatron is now known as leeder-krenon [18:33] o/ === thiago_ is now known as Guest13981 === jbracker is now known as Guest22535 === Guest13981 is now known as xth1 [19:59] https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization is it available for kubuntu also?
