Especially, i'd like to know if it's possible to have raring for this platform. Anyone can help me ? [13:10] tyzef, what SoC is in there ? [13:28] excuse me ogra_ : what's "SoC" ? [13:28] the chip/.processor in the d2plug [13:29] MarvellĀ® PXA510 [13:29] https://www.globalscaletechnologies.com/t-d2plugdetails.aspx [13:31] yeah, seems to be ARMv7 ... so that should work [13:33] i'm regarding the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM page but i'm not sure which netboot image to install (prefer the generic) [13:34] is armhf the good architecture ? [13:35] yes, there is no netboot image for a d2 plug ... you will have to fiddle it up yourself [13:35] "it will run" doesnt mean there is an installable image ... === NekoXP is now known as Neko [13:36] so i've to use mkimage command ... that's it ? [13:37] something like this : "mkimage -A arm -O linux -T ramdisk -C gzip -a 0x3000000 -e 0x3000000 -n "debian" -d initrd.gz uinitrd" [13:37] you can use an ubuntu-core tarball with your own kernel and bootloader ... but note that ubuntu-core comes completely unconfigured, you will need to do a lot to make it work properly [13:37] mkimage only turns a bainry into an u-boot readable binary [13:37] thats stuff for your bootloader ... [13:38] note that installling without install media/image is a rather advanced task [13:40] you will need to know how exactly your bootloader works, need to prepare your own kernel and initrd the right way and set up everything properly ... [13:40] and for the ubuntu-core tarball you need to know what to configure in teh rootfs to have a proper setup [13:44] i've allready install debian squeeze on this machine using mkimage and uboot but i've problems with dovefb_drv . So i want to try with ubuntu. === chihchun is now known as chihchun_afk === lag` is now known as lag [20:10] is there a page somewhere documenting what works on the samsung chromebook under ubuntu?
