stackycan someone plz help me07:10
stackyin solving this error07:10
stackyhttps://gist.github.com/anonymous/563322007:10
geirhayou apparently have a syntax error in /etc/apache2/conf.d/torrus-apache2.conf07:11
stackygeirha: but i didn't even touch that file07:15
geirhaCould it have been around from a previous install of that package?07:16
geirhaAnyway, if you want the default config for that package, I'd try purging it first, then install07:16
stackygeirha: I already tried that... but even after purging and reinstalling07:17
stackythe error is the sam07:17
stacky*same07:17
geirhaHm. Check if that particular file disappears after purging. Might be a bug in the packaging there07:18
stackyhttps://gist.github.com/anonymous/563326807:22
stackyany idea on this ?07:22
geirhasame error as apt-get found07:23
geirhaWhat does this output?  sudo apt-get remove --purge torrus-apache2; ls -l /etc/apache2/conf.d/torrus-apache2.conf07:25
stackyhttps://gist.github.com/anonymous/563328807:28
stackythis is the output07:28
geirhaso purging it does remove that file, then the package must contain a broken configfile07:30
stackygeirha: so what am i supposed to do ?07:30
geirhayou've run that apt-get command before, right?07:31
geirhaIf not, try installing it again now07:31
geirhaIf you get the same error, I think you're best approach will be to report it as a bug07:31
geirhas/you're/your/07:32
stackygeirha:07:32
stackyapache worked :)07:33
stackyno errors this time :)07:33
stackythank you so much :)07:33
geirhaok, you probably purged the wrong package last time you tried, then07:33

paulushi chat room persons. i just installed ubuntu on a new hard drive, and that drive runs ubuntu when connected to my old computer, but not the new computer, where i need it to run. can anyone help me figure this out?16:51
geirhahow is it connected, and what happens instead?17:03
pauluswhen i connected the new internal hard drive to the old computer it was by the same cables for its own hard drive. in other words i opened up the old computer and replaced the old hard drive with the new one.17:05
paulusafter installing ubuntu on it by liveUSB, i tested and found that the ubuntu OS works fine (its what im using now)17:06
pauluswhen i plugged that hard drive back in to my new computer, it would display the purple ubuntu screen, and as soon as it finished loading it would crash17:06
paulusdidn't even get to the username login screen17:06
geirhaHm. How does it crash?17:07
paulusthe computer stays on, but it stops sending a signal to the monitor.17:08
geirhaDoes anything happen if you hit Ctrl+Alt+F1 at that point?17:09
paulusno17:09
paulusof note, the new computer in question was unable to install ubuntu by liveUSB, live DVD, or liveSD. i had to take out the hard drive and put it in another computer to even install it.17:10
geirhaHm. How did they fail17:11
paulusthe same it would crash after the loading screen. i couldn't run linux off the liveusb and i couldnt install it.17:11
paulusbut it would install windows7 from the microsoft dvd17:11
geirhasounds like an issue with the graphics card drivers, which triggers when X starts17:12
geirhahave you tried booting in recovery mode?17:13
paulusstill nothing.17:13
geirhablack screen even in recovery mode? Hm. Can't say I've encountered that17:14
pauluswould i have to replace the graphics card drivers?17:15
paulushow does that work?17:15
geirhaMaybe someone else in here have some clues about what the issue could be. Though it might be an idea to put it as a question at askubuntu or the forums17:15
geirhapaulus: Even with problematic graphic card drivers, I'd expect recovery mode to boot17:16
paulusthat's weird. i guess ill ask elsewhere. can you link me to the forums?17:17
geirhahttp://askubuntu.com http://ubuntuforums.org17:17
geirhaI think askubuntu has more people now adays17:18
paulusawesome well thank you and wish me luck17:18
Phryqhey, anyone wanna help me connect my bluetooth headphones to my ubuntu?17:19
PhryqIt detects my phone, as well as my neighbours things, but never my headphones.17:19
PhryqMaybe if I upgrade to ubuntu 13 it might work?17:20
