[07:10] can someone plz help me [07:10] in solving this error [07:10] https://gist.github.com/anonymous/5633220 [07:11] you apparently have a syntax error in /etc/apache2/conf.d/torrus-apache2.conf [07:15] geirha: but i didn't even touch that file [07:16] Could it have been around from a previous install of that package? [07:16] Anyway, if you want the default config for that package, I'd try purging it first, then install [07:17] geirha: I already tried that... but even after purging and reinstalling [07:17] the error is the sam [07:17] *same [07:18] Hm. Check if that particular file disappears after purging. Might be a bug in the packaging there [07:22] https://gist.github.com/anonymous/5633268 [07:22] any idea on this ? [07:23] same error as apt-get found [07:25] What does this output? sudo apt-get remove --purge torrus-apache2; ls -l /etc/apache2/conf.d/torrus-apache2.conf [07:28] https://gist.github.com/anonymous/5633288 [07:28] this is the output [07:30] so purging it does remove that file, then the package must contain a broken configfile [07:30] geirha: so what am i supposed to do ? [07:31] you've run that apt-get command before, right? [07:31] If not, try installing it again now [07:31] If you get the same error, I think you're best approach will be to report it as a bug [07:32] s/you're/your/ [07:32] geirha: [07:33] apache worked :) [07:33] no errors this time :) [07:33] thank you so much :) [07:33] ok, you probably purged the wrong package last time you tried, then [10:03] Required plugin could not be found Python (v2.7) requires to install plugins to play media files of the following type: MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) decoder [10:03] is the error i get when trying to play mp3 files on [10:03] rhythm music player [10:03] rhythmbox mosic player [10:04] how do i solve it ? [10:05] i was able to install once properly,OS is ubuntu 12.01 LTS on a live cd. [10:44] http://pastebin.com/Jafsu8qp Please help me. === mpmc_ is now known as mpmc [16:51] hi chat room persons. i just installed ubuntu on a new hard drive, and that drive runs ubuntu when connected to my old computer, but not the new computer, where i need it to run. can anyone help me figure this out? [17:03] how is it connected, and what happens instead? [17:05] when i connected the new internal hard drive to the old computer it was by the same cables for its own hard drive. in other words i opened up the old computer and replaced the old hard drive with the new one. [17:06] after installing ubuntu on it by liveUSB, i tested and found that the ubuntu OS works fine (its what im using now) [17:06] when i plugged that hard drive back in to my new computer, it would display the purple ubuntu screen, and as soon as it finished loading it would crash [17:06] didn't even get to the username login screen [17:07] Hm. How does it crash? [17:08] the computer stays on, but it stops sending a signal to the monitor. [17:09] Does anything happen if you hit Ctrl+Alt+F1 at that point? [17:09] no [17:10] of note, the new computer in question was unable to install ubuntu by liveUSB, live DVD, or liveSD. i had to take out the hard drive and put it in another computer to even install it. [17:11] Hm. How did they fail [17:11] the same it would crash after the loading screen. i couldn't run linux off the liveusb and i couldnt install it. [17:11] but it would install windows7 from the microsoft dvd [17:12] sounds like an issue with the graphics card drivers, which triggers when X starts [17:13] have you tried booting in recovery mode? [17:13] still nothing. [17:14] black screen even in recovery mode? Hm. Can't say I've encountered that [17:15] would i have to replace the graphics card drivers? [17:15] how does that work? [17:15] Maybe someone else in here have some clues about what the issue could be. Though it might be an idea to put it as a question at askubuntu or the forums [17:16] paulus: Even with problematic graphic card drivers, I'd expect recovery mode to boot [17:17] that's weird. i guess ill ask elsewhere. can you link me to the forums? [17:17] http://askubuntu.com http://ubuntuforums.org [17:18] I think askubuntu has more people now adays [17:18] awesome well thank you and wish me luck [17:19] hey, anyone wanna help me connect my bluetooth headphones to my ubuntu? [17:19] It detects my phone, as well as my neighbours things, but never my headphones. [17:20] Maybe if I upgrade to ubuntu 13 it might work? [19:28] hello, im having problem with the software-center, it stopped working, i tried it with the terminal and it shows me an error of translation [19:30] does it work if you run it like this? LANGUAGE=en LANG=C sofware-center [19:32] no, i tried changing my language to english but didnt work [19:32] it shows this [19:32] LIBDBUSMENU-GLIB-WARNING **: Translation has an invalid value 'I-->D' for default text direction.
