[00:04] Hi all, I installed Lubuntu 12.10 and am having a problem getting xforwarding working with it. I've checked the sshd_config and it is enabled, I've tried -X and -Y from my client and that didn't help. When I connect the display variable isn't set, I try setting it (export DISPLAY="localhost:10.0") but still get the error: Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: localhost:10.0 [00:05] I've also tried xhost +, and get the error xhost: unable to open display "localhost:10.0" [00:08] Corollary: make a backup of /etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc then edit the existing one to remove the -nolisten tcp "$@" part [00:14] Fixed... right before you mentioned that I found a page in german with the same problem, it looks like ssh/X has some problem authenticating when ipv6 is enabled [00:14] so if you add AddressFamily inet to sshd_config it prevents ssh from listening in ipv6 and having the problem [00:17] Ah, nice === Corollary is now known as DavidErickson [01:25] oh no - there's still AbiWord in there?... :-O [01:29] It's a shame that this really nice project is so dead - but we really deserve something that actually works... [02:25] madel1: define dead :) [02:30] I'm just having a talk with abiword folks [02:31] they say they have slow but steady development [02:31] and version 2.9.2 is just a very bad choice [02:32] and I should blame Lubuntu rather than blaming them. [02:36] I'm just about to upgrade to raring - but there's still 2.9.2 in there. [02:36] Has the package maintainer died? [02:38] madel1: in my computer, abiword is NOT faster than libre writer. Why do you love abiword so much? [02:38] less memory requirements [02:39] and it is the thing that lubuntu ships by default. [02:39] ask them. [02:40] right, I got it [02:40] In saucy it's also gonna be 2.9.2, it seems [02:41] They say it's a bad development version that Ubuntu is stuck with - for years now, despite 2.9.4 being much better. [02:41] I used to use 12.04, abiword is very fast, but crash with doc files. 13.04 is better, but slower [02:43] there's not even a PPA on Launchpad with a newer version... [02:45] we seem to have the debian version... [02:46] so - maybe here's also the wrong place for complaints... [05:46] hi Noskcaj :) [05:46] hello rossball [05:47] hey, no chatting up my married sister!] [05:47] what? [05:48] hi :) [07:21] hi. Will lubuntu be faster than xfce? [07:22] yes, give it a try, feel by yourself [07:30] will it let my game run better because it uses less resources ? [07:32] its just same with ubuntu, with diff apps [07:33] ty [10:04] hi can someone explain how wubi is used to install anything. all it does is tell me to reboot with the cd in the tray: http://i.imgur.com/sQwuG4q.png [12:44] I <3 Lubuntu, it was the only Ubuntu flavor to automatically make my bcm4313 work out of the box and after updating!
