=== io is now known as IdleOne [17:46] Hey guys. I think we can help get more than 54 people signing this. http://www.change.org/en-CA/petitions/bell-canada-crtc-stop-bell-canada-cellpipe-7130-vdsl-8-00-forced-modem-rental-fee [20:33] genii-around: signed it. [20:45] :) [20:57] I also pay that $8 rental fee [21:02] The main problem is that Bell contracted Cellpipe to make a draft VDSL2 modem which has nonstandardized protocol. And then on the DSLAM side they used matching linecards. So you can't just go buy a regular VDSL2 modem and have it work with Bell, since they are using a proprietary spinoff version. [21:04] So they won't let you purchase their modem because they consider the proprietary parts in there their intellectual property. [21:23] ugh [21:24] I hate stupid measures like that [21:33] not to mention they throtle my bandwidth big time :/ [21:33] I'm afraid that the cable company here isn't much better === jlamothe is now known as Guest81347
