slipconi've been on ubuntu 11.04 and myth 0.24 for a long time - upgraded to 0.25, then upgraded ubuntu to 11.10 and then 12.04 to get on a LTS release - still having issues with myth, but I'm noticing that the latest 0.25-fixes build for 12.04 is from mid-april... 12.10 seems to have a build dated today -  I'd rather stay on a LTS release - is there some reason its lagging behind?13:44
Jay2k1umm, not sure i understood your question, but the current mythtv version is 0.2614:00
slipconyes, but 0.25-fixes is still supported - but the precise/12.04 repo is lagging by a month.14:05
Jay2k1ah ok14:06
Jay2k1that i don't know14:06
slipconi will probably end up upgrading to 0.26 anyway but i wanted to get my system working on 0.25 first, since I figure one step at a time is better14:06
Jay2k1i know what you mean, i too made the upgrade, but it's been a while already14:06
Jay2k1the only negative thing i noticed going from 0.24 to 0.25 is that the commercial detection is doing way worse than before :(14:06
Jay2k1and there's that other issue, don't remember if it was when upgrading to 0.25 or the ubuntu upgrade or just the nvidia driver, i'd guess it was the ubuntu upgrade14:07
Jay2k1it is that the screen resolution is always dynamic14:07
Jay2k1so if the myth box boots before i switch on my tv, i'll have 640x480 until i reboot or change it manually14:07
slipconhm.   i had issues with that way back when I first installed - had to do something with forcing EDID - but haven't made it that far yet on the new install.14:08
Jay2k1hmm, i think i'm doing that already14:09
tgm4883slipcon, 0.25 doesn't get many fixes anymore (since it's not the current release). Do you want us to build when there is nothing new just for the sake of having a newer date?14:29
slipconno.  I know it doesn't have a ton of updates - but let me be specific...14:36
slipcontake a look at the ppa for precise/12.04:  http://ppa.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/0.25/ubuntu/dists/precise/main/binary-amd64/Packages -  the packages are all version "20130423.94d67fc"14:37
slipconnow look at the same file for quantal (12.10):  http://ppa.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/0.25/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-amd64/Packages -  they are 20130530.ed3b7d114:37
slipconfinally, take a look at github, for 0.25:  https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/tree/fixes/0.25 - the latest hash is ed3b7d1, a fix committed yesterday14:39
tgm4883slipcon, yes, yesterday14:39
tgm4883slipcon, looking at the build PPAs, https://launchpad.net/~mythbuntu/+archive/fixes-old-building/+packages14:39
tgm4883slipcon, it would seem we're still waiting for the 32-bit version for precise to build14:40
slipcongot it - I just noticed that yesterday's fix was the first in a month - didn't think it would take more than a day to update though.14:40
tgm4883slipcon, it usually doesn't, I just checked with LP and there was a problem with the builder it seems14:41
tgm4883slipcon, thanks for the heads up, glad we got that sorted14:41
slipcongreat.... hopefully tonight I'll figure out why my HDHR tuners and my old analog tuner are failing to do anything on 0.25 (firewire still works, seemingly) - or just give up and jump to 0.26, and hopefully get them all to work there.14:42
* tgm4883 shrugs14:43
tgm4883verify it works outside of mythtv with the hdhr utility14:44
slipconwill do that when I get home... but it worked perfectly with 0.24 before the upgrade so I don't expect that has changed.14:44
tgm4883slipcon, could try removing and readding them in mythtv-setup too14:46
tgm4883slipcon, IDK, I use a HDHR prime on 0.26 and it works great14:46
slipconyep - did that a couple of times yesterday.   this is one of the old dual tuner hdhrs - one of the motivations for finally upgrading to 12.04 was to eventually get up to 0.26 and buy a prime.14:48
slipconfor what its worth, I just used the command line tool to capture a 2 minute  mpeg file with no problems from the hdhr.    i'll have to defer more debugging until i'm at home though.14:49
superm1tgm4883: hmm same thing happened with 0.26 - builder got stuck the other day15:21
qwebirc57322Anyone around?17:41
qwebirc57322I am looking to install mythbuntu on an older machine (2005ish) and I need to know that I understand before I start17:42

Shadow__XHow can i disable the update manager popups on mythbuntu 12.04. I have tried going into gconf and disabling the pop up there but it keeps coming up and covering up the frontend18:53
gedakcShadow__X:  You can turn off the update notifier with the following steps:19:50
gedakcStart Applications -> Settings -> Session and Startup19:51
gedakc      Click on "Application Autostart" tab19:51
gedakc        Disable "Update Notifier (Check for available updates automatically)"19:51
gedakc      Click on Close button19:51
superm1Shadow__X: i think unfortunately it's no longer triggered by that gconf setting22:26
superm1we'll need to get that sorted out22:26
Shadow__Xsuperm1: yeah, Its pretty annoiying as it just randomly pops up. Also, since i do updates through terminal its useless to me22:42
Shadow__XubIx_: i liked how the old way handled it22:42
